So 5.1 this morning but it was after a large glass of white the night before. I've been snacking on nuts since breakfast so should have been seeing bloods in the 6's. at least. Tested bloods around 1:15 just after a lunch of a low carb cheese scone and a Silesian sausage. Blood 4.5! Tried again 4.2. I guess the liver is still filtering out the alcohol.

Hi all im new here mine was 6.7 this morning.what helps you all get better reading in the 4s or 5s that's what im aiming for

welcome :) some people like says in your profile diet only careful on the carbs. some require various oral meds, whilst others inject insulin, i do believe there is a couple that use weighloss injections, no personal experience of that so can't tell how that works or not. i'm in a strange situ, t1/lada honeymoon stage and was lucky enough to come off insulin (will need to go back on eventually). whatever works for a person is the right choice :) exercise by the way helps muscles to use insulin body has a little more effeciently and helps to reduce possible insulin resistence. If have dawn phenom (raises pre wake up) some can halt with a couple of nuts or simular others aren't as lucky. depends whats right for that particular person. despite some other unkown/or known variables throwing numbers askew on occassion. most ok days, not so good days alongside bad days sometimes at least for me can see no rhyme nor reason. have a good browse round the forum, and feel free ask questions in relevant forums best wishes

Well said,"whatever works for a person is the right choice!

6.2 today. Got my bloodwork done this morning, a usually super busy place was completely empty! Great for me. So that’s done….really worried about the A1C as my levels have been all over the place and we were in Japan.
Went to the gym afterwards for a long walk (did not lower my sugar) and some abs.
I’m undecorating today, time for the Christmas stuff to go.

Happy new year best wishes to 2026 :)

libre 4.8 blood glucose will be a bit higher. ketones 1.8 stomach still playing up :/
food appeared to run through me lunch / dinner have upped fluid intake a fair bit going to try continue with that. prob a bug or something. I prob should of ate more yesterday. did have usual food however very little effect on sugar levels compared to norm?

Hosting new years late lunch at mine some family popping around. made soup steakpie filling, forgot to make desert so doing that after breakfast. hoping that stays down!

New years resolutions list of mine
Try get the ketone issue resolved? Learn about electrolytes my knowledge is severely lacking in that dept.
Learn more about diabetes in general alongside own specific varient and how effects myself.
Look after myself better.

Happy new year!
Hope everyone is having a great first day of 2026
Well, I really don’t deserve this….i got my HBA1C results, 5.9%, or 41 ….very, very unexpected, I had such a bad time over the past months. I feel very lucky and am full on into proper eating. I did get a wee scare though as my hemoglobin was slightly low and platelets slightly high….need to up the red meat.
Morning glucose was 6.6
Did go to the gym, a long walk and then upper body weights. Got a few ingredients for butter chicken which I’ll cook tomorrow (actually the chicken needs to marinate over night). It’s steak tonight.

fingerprick 5.9 libre 4.5 Ketones 1.6 brightside upping fluids seems to help with ketones :)

chasing up results qfit stool results, although do have appt scheduled 12th jan. yesterday meals = sit down to loo within hour 4x yesterday.

Loads of leftovers from yesterday. lunch and dinner sorted for today :) couple cancelled at very short notice as called into work. They're popping over for dinner this evening after work instead.

Glad you got a pleasant surprise with your hba1c @Bcgirl :) slightly low shouldnt effect much. if low low can have a larger impact https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7336595/ my late mother was very anemic had to get fructosamine test instead which measures averages over a VERY much shorter time frame think its 2 weeks. She received very regular venofer infusions to help with the low iron count.
