New American food guidelines - nod to low carb

The new guide lines at real food.gov have a new emphasis on protein and vegetables. I wondered how Americans would cut back on potatoes, hot dogs and hamburgers but my husband tells me that this is the way all school lunches and food for the army, navy, etc will be done from now on. Very interesting!
 
It's a bit more than a nod to low carb. Taken alongside the American College of Cardiology's statement six years ago

that there was no good evidence that limits on saturated fat consumption would "prevent CVD or reduce mortality", it represents a complete about-face.

It will take longer for the media to accept it, I guess, and the food and pharma industries will probably continue to pretend that nothing has happened.
 
I find it ironic that it is being introduced by Robert Kennedy Junior. Watch for the repositioning of food packaging to now be real food real good…..
 
Robert Kennedy junior is, in my opinion not the kind of person I would be following. He may have said something sensible with his latest out burst , but check out his other non sensical diktats.
