Sorry if this is a silly question, I for a long time associated feeling these sensations as unmanaged BS levels, it's hard to describe the sensation but i guess its like pins n needles in the fingers and toes but more prickly. I had them tonight after eating however when i tested I was still within the acceptable range.

I was 5.3 before eating.
6.7 15 minutes after eating and then back down to 5.8 by the end of the hour.
Does anyone else get this and is it a symptom of diabetes and one to be concerned about or not a concern if the numbers are good.

I've never had this sensation in relation to food.
Considering your numbers, which even after eating aren't anywhere near outside normal for non diabetics, I wouldn't expect this to be related to diabetes.

That's good to know and reassuring, i have a lot going on with the Diabetes, Prolactinoma, High Trigs and High HDL/Cholesterol Ratio and trying to get a better understanding of what symptoms are tied to which conditions, so glad to know i can tick this one off being a diabetes related neuropathy issue. Currently trying to maintain the Low Carb diet that has been successful for lowering my BS as much as possible but introducing a little more Carbs here and there that can help with the Trigs like Oats, more greens with each meal etc.. so just a bit all over the place. Cheers

This may seem a stupid reply in connection with this but have you thought it may be chilblains
Hi Mark, could well be i dont get any changes cosmetically it's purely just prickly/pins n needles like feeling on the tips of my fingers and toes when it happens even typing on a keyboard feels like im slamming my fingers down on the keyboard when it normalises typing feels normal again. if it isn't blood sugar related then possibly tied in with Sodium intake or electrolytes as it only ever happens after eating, i'll need to start writing down what meals cause it to try and zone in on the culprits. I also get some pains in veins that are raised on my legs and forehead so again could be more to do with blood pressure changes. I have a blood pressure monitor at home and also my GP measures and it's always good when testing but maybe i need to start testing soon after meals to check if it's temporary high fluctuations. Then there is my Trigs and HDL levels not sure if that could play any part in it.

I just noticed that your name is Fender Tele... Do you think you have any carpal tunnel or RSI from playing guitar...?

I have various weird things that happen with my fingers and wrists that I would link more to years of guitar playing than the diabetes.

Maybe holding your cutlery, or holding a bowl of cereal as you eat it is causing the issue, more than the food itself.

I have (had) diabetic neuropathy and also some nerve damage from injuries that long precedes T2.

A "pins and needles" sensation is common to both, but, in my case anyway, they're different P&N sensations. Hard to explain exactly how they feel different. The neuropathy one for me is more like the feeling you get when you've been on your feet all day and take your shoes off, only turned up to the point it's not pleasant; the other (from injuries) is more like the pins and needles when sensation returns to an arm or leg after you've sat the wrong way and it's gone to sleep.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's entirely possible what you're feeling is not diabetes-related.

Interesting. I am going through the same thing right now with my fingers. I haven't noticed if it happens after eating. I'll pay more attention to that. It came on about 3 months ago, gradually got better, but can re-appear some days. It's worse in my left hand. Thought it might possibly related to carpal tunnel. Also kind of interesting that this all started after I did a couple of months of physical therapy for a torn rotator cuff.
