What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

4.61 mmol/L at 4 a.m., an early start today. I don’t like Libre or CGM—they cause me stress. I’m comfortable with one or two finger pricks a day and keeping a good food log. My results are stable and I’m happy with them. The weather is slowly warming up. Best wishes to all.

7.5 meter
6.6 Dexcom
Did not go to bed until 3:45, I was completely wired and over tired. No amount of herbal tea helped! Writing this now and ready for bed but unable to yet and I would wake up early hours if I went to sleep now. I know it :banghead:

Hola! Perfect weather, long walks, good and low carb food….so far so good.
6.3 this morning BUT….after coffee and water and just before we headed out for a long walk it measured 4.0. I didn’t believe it, thought it was an error. Off we went and 15,000 steps later we returned to a big drink of water and blood sugar..4.1! Must admit there was no food since 5 or so last night but I never get reading that low. Interesting.
Hubby says that’s a reason to move here….lol

7.0 today but so happy waking up in my own bed and looking forward to a low carb breakfast to start the day.
I cannot believe why healthcare professionals and my ill informed family believe a bowl of porridge is the right food to set me up for the day. Sadly I only have to look at a bowl of porridge and my blood sugar spikes but after eating one it shoots up to over 12 mmols and stays there taking over 3.5 hours to come back down to anything like an acceptable level. All of this is with proper oats porridge without sugar or honey or sweetners. Remainder of the day is not much better with food options and I am so grateful for the science of the CGM to help me understand what is good or bad for me and not have to rely on common beliefs.

I find healthcare professionals don't have a clue about nutrition, never mind diabetic nutrition. A great gap in their training, and much the worse for us.

Sadly my experience too. Even endo’s

On the bright side we have things like this site and now chat gpt ……

Health professionals often recommend oats as a healthy breakfast, but they don’t work for me. About 10 years ago, steel-cut oats were my favorite morning meal. After tracking my food closely, I learned that oats caused a significant spike in my blood glucose, so I stopped eating them altogether.
