Several slices of cold roast lamb plus a couple of banana/oat cookies and a cup of tea.

2nd meal will be a kind of biriyani with the rest of the lamb and chickpea rice.

Today and tomorrow I have to go out - today to get my legs rebandaged and tomorrow to get a filling replaced (it fell out about 3 weeks ago) but the biriyani should be easy enough to make with little effort. By tomorrow I may not be fit to do anything.

EDIT: Lots of things missing from the shopping list in today's shop (while I was getting my legs done) but Neil will try again tomorrow while I am in with the dentist. There's enough there to keep going in any case.

Porridge for breakfast, cottage cheese salad for lunch and it will be chicken korma for tea.

Storm Dave took the felt off my shed roof - the shed is old and I don't want to go to any expense to fix it, as I will need to replace the shed in a year or two anyway. I stapled a thick tarpaulin on it today and hope that will last a while. I had already finished the section of hedge I wanted to do, so there's just the clearing up to do there now.

The grass, however, is romping away and I haven't managed to get around to cutting it due to the shed roof emergency. I may have a go at that tomorrow if it's not too wet.

I also sowed the second batch of dwarf french beans when I came in to rest my back earlier. The first batch is just starting to produce beans, I'm very excited about that!

I am invited to have afternoon tea with a group of people tomorrow, one of whom is "the Highland Chocolatier" from Aberfeldy who supplied chocolates to HM the late Queen and is apparently famous for his fantastic chocolate creations. Such a pity I can't indulge in his products. Not that I suppose there will be any on offer tomorrow afternoon. Tea on its own for me.

It's a nice day so I will be off to tackle the grass cutting project in a minute. My shady end of the garden, which is now considerably less shady after the neighbour's gigantic leylandii was cut down, is a good spot for some comfrey, which I've neglected to grow until now. The price of fertlizers (even organic seaweed ones) has rocketed over the past few years and now it'll go even higher, so I want to try to make some of my own. It can grow under the hedges in the far corner, which wasn't possible before.

Porridge for breakfast, cheese salad for lunch and the second half of the chicken korma for tea (I'm on a curry phase at the moment!)

Just had a cup of green tea this afternoon. Others had food but I wasn't sad at not being able to eat it - I really could have done much better with one hand tied behind my back. It wouldn't have seemed so expensive had it been better food. As it was £3.50 for a cup of tea or coffee, £4.50 for a 4" diameter dry roll with a 2" diameter slice of dry looking haggis in it was exorbitant. Smart looking establishment, rubbish product.

To add to that, the table we sat at was unstable and gave way under me as I tried to lean on it to stand up, tipping crockery onto the floor (broke 2 cups and 3 saucers). Embarrassing! At least I managed to hold onto the wall and not fall over.

I did after all eat again - had some fried, pre-cooked, chilled potato slices with 2 fried eggs.

I had a good day in the garden yesterday, I got most of the tall grass under control and just need to go around with a trimmer now. I only managed to do a high cut though so the next dry day we get I'll have to go over it again - that's the story of my life in the spring and summer!

It's very rainy today so I'll go back to decluttering/organising the indoor shed which I had to leave in order to take advantage of the good weather in the garden. I also need to get some more seed sowing done.

Porridge for breakfast, I'll probably have ham and eggs for lunch and I'll whip up another curry for tea, maybe masala this time.

Had a dry cracker and an oat biscuit to bring BG up above 4. Didn't really want to eat anything after that, but I suppose I should make an effort for some kind of brunch. Nearly half past 12, so must get on and make some kind of effort. Eggs? Cheese? Soup? Not sure. Feeling very lazy today, after yesterday's shenanigans.

For 2nd meal today I have a piece of hake. Not sure what to make with it. Probably just shallow fry and serve with salad.

I got very little done yesterday, one of those days when I got too easily distracted. Another attempt today! I did get a little bit of seed sowing done, and today I really must get the broad beans and peas sown.

Porridge for breakfast, then it'll be something with salad for lunch, and the other half of the masala for tea.

Breakfast: chickpea rice with onions and peas then an egg stirred into it. Tea.

2nd meal - probably h/m fish fingers with the haddock that Neil bought for me. Salad.

My "new" (2nd hand) tablet arrived but I am having difficulty using it. It demanded a password (quite unneccessary for me) and I put in one that was strong enough for Neil to approve. However, it is so complicated that I can't get it in fast enough and it tells me that it is the wrong password and shuts down. Have to get Neil to show me how to change the password to something simple - as I said, I don't really need a password for it. Also, as usual these days, of course, it doesn' t have a manual so I will have to try to find one online. Me and tech!!!

Neil fixed it for me. I still don't know what he did, although he did let me watch what was happening on the screen. Not that that helped much because I couldn't understand what he was doing to bring those things up on the screen. Anyhow, Neil changed the password to something simpler. He also managed to get it to open Zoom, which is what I wanted it for. Just hoping that I c an remember how to do it for my next Zoom meeting on Tuesday.

Wasn't hungry by late afternoon, so I didn't bother eating.

Porridge for breakfast, cottage cheese salad for lunch and yet more curry for tea!

A bitty day today, I had to wait in all morning for the water meter guy but the meter installation could not be done because my house is on a shared supply - I'm a bit at a loss as to how the water company didn't already know that! Anyway, apparently I can have a reduced charge instead of a meter, which actually works out less than half of what I've been paying. And I get to use water without worrying about how much money is going down the drain (I never waste it, but a meter would really have had me fretting).

I then had lunch and did a tip run with the junk from my indoor shed. There's a little bit more recyling and giving away to do there as well.

Breakfast: crackers and ham. Coffee.

2nd meal will be a beef mince and rice dish. First job - make a ragout with all the mince, then take some of the beef and mix in some vegetables and then the whole lot into some rice - chickpea rice, that is.

EDIT: change of plan. Checking the fridge I found that there are some chicken thighs right on their use-by date and the beef mince has a day or two to go before it is out of date so roasted chicken thighs with roasted cauliflower, I think and the mince for tomorrow.

Promising start to the day but some rain forecast for later. I'm going to do a bit in the garden and see how far I get.

Porridge for breakfast, planning cottage cheese salad for lunch and curry for tea - good thing I quite like eating the same thing for days at a time!

Avocado salad for breakfast. Coffee. - just because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to get a new packet of tea out of the larder.

Probably I'll use some more of the roasted chicken and veg for a second meal today. That's the easier option and I'll probably be tired this afternoon after going to town for my echocardiogram so the easier the better.

Hope your echocardiogram goes well today. I often have roast chicken over several days with salad and love it, like yesterday, when I heated pieces of roast chicken in a frying pan with a few bits of cooked ham and veggies then added beaten eggs to make a frittata. I've also got some frittata left over for brunch today.

I had some of the chicken and veg for lunch when I came back from town and realise that I really don't much like roast chicken - hot or cold. Poached is OK, so I'll have it that way in future.

Porridge for breakfast, egg salad for lunch and the last of the curry for tea.

I did a little bit in the garden until I got rained off, and rediscovered a clematis that has been doing really well inside the overgrown hedge - it's in its third year and about to flower for the first time. I had to stop then, because the blackbirds are now going in and out of the next bit I wanted to do - they weren't bothered by me being there, maybe because they are really tame now due to me feeding them every morning, but I don't want to disturb them if they're thinking of nesting there, it's safer than a lot of places in the garden for them.

Off out tomorrow to meet up with a friend, so not sure what I'll eat yet. It will be porridge for breakfast though.
