Rushing off out this morning - lots of extra caring related stuff to do this week before we go away for a short break at end of week . Food will be keto granola and low carb toast, then a LC ham roll while out, then lamb and salad when back later.

RyVita's all gone, lasagne's all gone, think I may have to back off from the legumes a bit, at least while I am still taking antibiotics (something is having an unfortunate effect on my innards again). There are a few Jacob's crackers left, a few apricots, a banana, some oranges and lemons and some yoghurt. I'll figure out something for breakfast out of that lot.
I have to cook today - there's a cauliflower in the fridge that is crying out to be used up and nothing ready made in the freezer except soup. Maybe a vegetable curry with cauli/coconut rice.
It's all a bit uncertain because today our power is supposed to be off for 3 or 4 hours while our fuse box is being replaced. It depends when those 3 or 4 hours are, whether I can get a stove to cook on. It might all just fall flat and I'll have to get one of those litre pots of soup out of the freezer and defrost it over the gas camping stove.

Hope everything goes well today x

Ah the old living room camping situation! I hope you manage to get something good to eat.

Despite the rain I got a fair bit done today, but I feel really fatigued this afternoon so I'm having a rest now, just doing a couple of loads of washing.

Breakfast was the usual porridge, lunch was cottage cheese salad and tea will be chicken and vegetables.

I had the first of my sungold tomatoes with my lunch, they're very small but very tasty!

It's just after 8 pm and the power has just come back on. I did some odd jobs around the place but I was so cold that I just sat in the big chair with a fleece jacket on and a blanket.
Too late to do anything about food now. I'll just have a hot drink and call it a day.

So sorry you are so cold. Its still unseasonably warm here, fingers crossed for a thunderstorm overnight - the garden needs it so.
I'm heading your way, I think, in August. We're doing a 10 day sailing trip Hebrides but I'm not in charge of the route. Fingers crossed its warmer by then, for both of us

I hope you enjoy your trip to the Hebrides. It should be warmer by then, but most years August is wet. We came here in August 1974 and I was enchanted by the number of rainbows we saw in those first few weeks.

I had Horlicks to make up for the missing meal and to warm me up a bit. Not sure that I enjoy Horlicks these days - that's the first time in many years that I've had it. I bought it for an experimental recipe I want to try, normally I wouldn't have it in the house.

Not eating today until teatime as I have more liver related blood tests this afternoon and one of them needs 8 hour fasting. I've just had weak black tea but will move onto water now. Planning chicken fajitas and salads for an early dinner.
My early walk round my garden showed how much rain we had yesterday evening and overnight - all my pot saucers are full to the brim, may need to empty them into watering can.

Wasn't feeling hungry at breakfast time so just had a cup of coffee or two (maybe 3). Later had a couple of grapes and a couple of slivers of cheese. Stomach is rumbling a bit now though.

Today I have to make that veg curry with cauliflower and coconut rice. If I leave it too much longer, they'll all start to go off. Feeling very lethargic though. At least I've finished my antibiotics this morning, so things should look up a bit.

Lots of rain here too @shelley262 and pretty cool too. I'm hoping that will suit the rocket I just sowed and the lettuce seedlings so they won't bolt too quickly - typical British summer weather has to be good for something!

I need to get the brassicas in so might have to dodge the rain or wear my poncho today!

Breakfast was porridge, lunch cottage cheese and salad, and dinner will be chicken and vegetables.

My salad today was all from my garden and windowsills, lettuce, rocket, pea shoots, celery, onion and sungold tomatoes and the only bought item was cucumber - in a few weeks I should have mini cucumbers from my indoor plant as well!

So far my courgette plant looks healthy and is growing well and I've sowed a couple more of different varieties as well. I'm looking forward to those, I intend to eat them very small roasted or stir fried.

Well another day starting with a fast. I did do my fast yesterday - water only till 3pm as instructed but was told on arrival by the phlebotomist that she couldn't take my bloods after courier left at 3 as one of the 15 tests ordered by Dr needed spinning if it was sitting around overnight waiting for next courier! they don't have a spinner! New gp not realising about time she booked me not possible - but I'm ok with it as got a new bloods appointment for this morning and the new GP I saw yesterday is lovely. Results by phone call in around 2 weeks.
So no breakfast first thing I'm sipping hot water just now. Planning a late breakfast probably some keto granola and LC toast, salad for lunch and sea bass for tea with more peas from the garden.

My best laid plans all seem to go aglae (wrong). Just as I was thinking of starting cooking yesterday afternoon, a visitor arrived so I just had to sit and chat for about 2 hours. She didn't even want a cup of tea, so at least I didn't have to dig out the shop made biscuits.

She left at 3.30 and I had a Zoom meeting to go to at 4.00, so no time to cook before that. Zoom meeting finished at 5.45 and I just didn't feel like either cooking or eating by then. So I had a total of 4 slivers of cheddar and about 8 or 9 grapes yesterday plus tea and coffee.

This morning I had a pork chop and onions for breakfast.

I'm not going to plan anything for later - in case those best laid plans go wrong again.

@Annb I love how you hate offering shop bought biscuits to your visitors :hilarious: Most people would be perfectly happy with them but you spoil your visitors rotten!

Rainy day here, I'm dodging the showers again. I didn't get the brassicas in yesterday and maybe won't today, we'll see. I am doing some garden jobs and tidying up so the day isn't wasted. I do just end up pottering around, poking things and muttering to myself for a lot of the time!

Porridge for breakfast, cottage cheese salad for lunch and lamb leg steak with vegetables for tea.

@shelley262 I hope yesterday went well and you enjoyed your meal when you finally got it!

I don't know how I missed this post - sorry! Glad you got the test out of the way today x

We’ve recently finished watching a Tubi free online tv “show “ you might find interesting. It’s called something like Tour Scottish islands with Paul Murton as presenter. Several seasons, about five episodes each, the presenter gives an interesting social history of an island an episode. Beautiful scenery and very interesting content.

I did make a 2nd meal this afternoon - veg curry with cauliflower and coconut rice. Then I really spoiled myself by making an apricot crumble and having a spoon of double cream with it. Lots of insulin beforehand to take control of the BG.

Lots of curry, lots of cauli rice and lots of crumble left for the next few days.

All bloods done this morning - now the wait for the results! At least we are going away on Friday until next Wednesday and hopefully will be able to not think too much about it. Yet to hear about a date for the CT scan gp has also ordered.
In between rain showers I harvested enough peas from the garden for two of us ( combined with some bought broccoli) - delicious peas. Bloods a bit higher than usual after dinner though so they are probably a sweet treat rather than a green vegetable! I also had a few local strawberries and they tasted sweeter than earlier in the season so could be both things. Very much enjoyed though and I'm optimistic they will drop soon.

I hope the results of your blood test are what you want to hear.

Rushing around in garden this morning - its been quite windy and hadn't realised how much tomatoes had shot up so they were being blown about and in danger of snapping. So was out there in my night clothes, before even had a cup of tea, putting more ties on them to secure them.
Proper breakfast planned this morning, before go out, eggs and mushrooms need using up so scrambled eggs with mushrooms it is.
Lunch salad from garden plus hummus and possibly cheese
Dinner cheeseburger on low carb roll and salad.
Final packing, care stuff, and sorting today. Will report back on my food next when back middle of next week.We are sailing on the Cunard Liner Queen Mary 2 - usually can find a good choice of diabetes friendly food on Cunard and have a Dexcom sensor on to help me keep an eye on things.

:hilarious: This is absolutely me on more occasions than I care to admit! I once had to nip out at 1am because I'd forgotten to zip up the polytunnel on a cold night!

Breakfast was porridge, early lunch was a carbiferous disaster (I'm blaming the unseasonal weather), tea will be more sensible sausages and vegetables!

Yesterday I got my multi-head cauliflower planted up in a large container and today I will plant some kalettes in one of the raised beds. Maybe also some other large containers with brussels and cavalo nero. The swedes will go in tabletop containers after I harvest the onions - which I will chop and freeze because it's too early to harvest them for storage and most of them are not bulbing up very well anyway. I won't bother with bulbing onions again, I'll just grow bunching onions for greens BUT I might grow a few shallots in the autumn after seeing GrowVeg raving about them :hilarious:
