Oh no, here in Tilehurst Towers 1st floor floorboards are creaking which can only mean one thing, Mrs J is on the move, and will shortly be issuing instructions, well orders for me, being a dutiful husband and wishing to survive will comply muttering yes dear.

Yes dear……

3.7 at 01.30 today. Not really FBG because I'd only just got into bed when the alarm went off. I found that the battery was low on the reader and it wouldn't actually give me a figure - just sound an alarm. So I had to get up and recharge it. Back to bed by 02.15. Up again at 03.30 when BG was 5.4.

Bright sunshine at the moment here. Wonder how long that will last.

We have 4 hours of half price electricity on Saturdays and Sundays, which is when I do the washing for the week. Yesterday, with the washing machine (and dishwasher) halfway through the wash, we had a power cut. When it came back on, the machines went back to the start of their programmes and, of course, were still at it when we were back into full price power. Didn't even get all of the washing done either. So today, on full price, I am doing more washing and drying. Annoying!

Blood sugars earlier this morning were 5.7, but not for long.

Good happy Tuesday morning Ladies and Gentlemen, as I type this, the time in my reality is 11:45 and rapidly heading for the time when I have to take painkillers ready for this afternoons session of free pain, courtesy of the NHS, I am informed that some people pay for this level of pain!

If you are disqualified from driving or riding a motorcycle temporarily due to taking powerful painkillers is it wise to ride an electric bicycle or electric scooter, I’m asking for a friend, , yeah right! .

It is now time for my lunch so stay safe all.

5.2 this morning

have just had a lovely long break between classes and 1:1s - so had a lovely meal in the pub up the road. It was Hunters chicken. Chicken breast with 2 slices bacon on top and covered with melted cheddar cheese plus a small salad and of course following coffee and cream.

6.5 at 02.00 today. Another short night in bed, but I did doze for a bit in the chair.
Neil has to do some plastering in the meter cupboard after the new fuse box was put in. To do it, he needs to turn the power off for a while today. I hope it doesn't take too long - I have a Zoom meeting this afternoon.

The plastering was done in time for my Zoom meeting, so that was fine.

6.6 at 03.30 today.

I'll have to try to get an appointment to see a GP again today. The breathlessness and low oxy has been back for the last 2 days, and is no better this morning. Maybe the antibiotics I had last week were not enough to get rid of it, or maybe it wasn't an infection after all. I do have an appointment with the nurse on Thursday, but that's for my legs and she knows nothing about anything else. She wouldn't be able to do anything about antibiotics anyway.

The receptionist told me there were no appointments left by the time I got through to the surgery this morning but she agreed to ask a GP to phone some time today. Amazingly the senior partner called back by 9 am and, after listening to what I had to say he made an appointment for me to see one of his partners at 2.30. Wonderful!

Anyway, that GP took a good amount of time finding out what the issues were and looking at my notes and sounding my chest. He reckons there is still fluid on my lungs, but doesn't think there is any infection, so the antibiotics probably weren't needed. What he does think is that the blood pressure medicine I have been taking for a number of years have slowed my heart down too much and possibly made the pumping uneven and possibly inefficient - hence the fluid retention. So my blood pressure medicine is to be reduced, chest Xray ordered and another appointment next week to see how we are going. He made the appointment then and there so no hassle with the receptionists.

I'll award myself (and my doctor) a winner for that!

6.0 at 08:20 this morning, which is ok for me at the moment. Blood pressure was quite high (and a lot higher than it's been recently) at 142/69 (it was 117/77 when I checked it yesterday afternoon) - not sure why, although I was already dealing with some work escalations etc. by the time I'd checked it.

Scheduled an eye test for the weekend which will be my first since the surgery for a detached retina 3 months ago. I'm not really noticing any vision issues at the moment but though it best to get checked, especially as my annual diabetes eye check noted some mild degradation in one eye (not the one that had the detached retina), so my next diabetic eye check has been moved up to 6 months time

Blood sugars at 6:00am were 3.7 whoops.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who never mastered the art of riding a unicycle.
Today is national bin day and we must shed a tear for the bin men and postmen who brave this monsoon weather we are experiencing at the moment.

Well it is time the walrus said to shift myself and get on with my day, stay safe, stay dry and whatever

Chest XRay tomorrow morning.

Shattered after going to town this morning. The breathlessness is getting worse and I had a hypo on top of that. Just what I needed. Slept for 2 hours in the chair as soon as we got back. Woke cold and stiff. Just warming up thanks to the big woolen poncho DIL made for me, but feeling pretty nauseous for some reason. Feeling as though the end could be nigh, but probably not. Just used more of the available energy than I could afford.
