What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.7 at 05.00 today. Looks as though I had a good long sleep last night but, actually, I got involved with my writing project that I have been trying to finish off for weeks now. It's a complicated story and I keep finding that I've mixed the sequence up so I've had to sort iŧ all out. Then, last night I found that I had repeated a chapter, saving one of them on top of a previous chapter. 2 chapter 4's and no chapter 3. Aargh! So now I have to rework chapter 3. I don't know how I did that. Anyway, I only got to bed at 02.00 and couldn't get to sleep until about 03.00. so it was still just a 2 hour night.

Off shortly for my clinic appointment for blood test, ECG and leg rebandaging. Just finishing this cup of coffee and I'll get my socks and shoes on.

6.9 at 03.30 today.

Although we didn't see any lightening or hear any thunder, we lost power for a few hours last night. I was just at the beginning of a Zoom meeting when our island and Skye lost power completely. My battery back-up kept it going for a short time, but, while others, on the mainland, had no problem all of us islanders were in disarray. During the night we did have a fair bit of lightening, but no thunder, and we lost power again. When I came through at 03.30 the TV had turned itself on (I have to leave it on standby because I can't reach the on/off switch). I was wondering, briefly, who was chatting away in the kitchen. Didn't realise that a power surge could make it come on of its own accord.

7.8 at 03.45 today.

Suffering after my outing yesterday to a friend's funeral. It was a lovely funeral but a huge effort which will take me a day or so to recover from. No more funerals for me, I think - just that one final one, of course, but I won't be putting any great effort into that one.

Today has to be a day of rest. No option.

Blood sugars this morning were 4.8, a trifle low for me, me’s and myself, I should point out other puddings are available from all good post offices?

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman, I hope you are all staying cool and safe, this weather is glorious, dangerous, but glorious, here in Tilehurst Towers Mrs J and myselves are following all the advice from the wise ones. The Dandy and Beano are such useful sources of information.

Now, must, away I be, a tie to choose, shirt and trousers etc for a surprise event I have found out about…..

Glad to hear you are enjoying the good , if dangerous, weather. Here, I have just decided to go back into big winter jumpers (a thick cable knit, polo neck today).

Good afternoon all. Woke up at 3am feeling like an ice lolly melting off it's stick! LOL Very thirsty/ shaky. Suspecting a hypo I made my way to the kitchen for a drink of water and to test blood sugars which were 9.9. After washing my face with cold water I managed to settle off to sleep. Thankfully the temperature is predicted to get cooler tomorrow. Keep cool if you can and take care everyone.

Neil has found some information about a drug called ATR-258. It is supposed to promote the efficacy of insulin and so, glucose control.
Has anyone heard anything about this new drug? What I have found seems to indicate that it has been shown to be effective in humans but I can't see anything about it being made available.
