Deciding whether to get a pump after unstable glucose levels after a Whipple

I am one year and 1/2 post Whipple. My identification of diabetes began the journey to the discovery of pancreatic cancer- After starting chemo I no longer needed to inject my self with insulin. However, this past December my levels went haywire and for the first time I needed to inject insulin three times a day; I am also taking Metformin. After seeing my endocrinologist three months ago, I am meeting with him tomorrow. I am fairly sure this discussion will take place. Does anyone want to comment on this? I am very conflicted.

Hi @mjaye21 and welcome to the forums.

Disclaimer : T1 here so need to inject all my insulin, as I no longer produce any of my own.

I was offered a pump over 5 years ago and declined, mainly because I didn't fancy being connected to a pump all the time.
Two years ago I received the same offer and accepted, and just wish I had done it earlier. The game changer for me is that I used to get bad hypos , and the pump protects me from that, though it does improve my diabetic control as well.

Good luck with your meeting.
