I once had a panic attack. I have a small dog that I love dearly; I spoil him with treats, and he even sleeps in my bed. I had seen a YouTube video where a crocodile was by the riverbank and a tiny dog approached it, barking; people were laughing at the contrast in size and power. The thing was, the little dog got too close, and the crocodile ate him in one bite and submerged into the river. Afterward, the image of a crocodile eating my dog kept popping into my mind, and I would wake up feeling anxious. On other occasions, I might have taken an anti-anxiety pill, but this time I handled it like this: I asked myself, "Where are we?" "In the city." "Are there crocodiles here?" "No." "Is my dog in any danger?" "No." And just like that, the panic attack was gone; by reasoning it through, I was able to control it without medication.

How is this connected to your prediabetes?

A panic attack can raise cortisol levels and, consequently, blood glucose levels. That is precisely why this "mental health issues" thread exists. One's mood—whether good or bad—can influence glucose levels. Best regards!

Hi @M.A.R.

Any form of anxiety can raise BG levels. It’s a natural response though not much help when diabetic.

I see a fair amount of AI content published on YouTube which in some cases can look quite “convincing” at first glance? Which can include wild attempted attacks on domesticated animals & humans? Some can add the “threat” (CGI.) on what would be an uneventful short clip..

As a dog lover myself. I can understand this can be upsetting to witness.

I’m glad you managed to rationalise & Risk assess any potential regarding your geographical location.

Best wishes to you & your dog. Who sounds like a great hound.
