What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Blood sugars this Morening were 9.3

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen, today has been designated Black Tuesday Mrs J is forcing me, me’s and myself to have a haircut and beard trim, such cruelty, now if nobody minds I’m off to sulk in my shed.

Good morning all. Fbs today was 11.2 :arghh: We had rain last night and this morning! Not a lot but welcome nevertheless. It is also down to 15 degrees and less humid. Our area does not have a hosepipe ban but we are still being careful not to waste water including collecting water from the showers whilst they are warming up and from washing vegetables with which to water the plants and fill the bird bath. Best wishes.:)

6.6 at 03.30 today.
Just back from the leg bandaging ritual and have to sit down to rest my legs and ankles, so it gives me a chance to catch up with you guys. After a bit of a rest I will make coffee.
The new air conditioning unit for the Scenic came on Tuesday so Neil took it in to the garage but they won't get around to doing anything until next Monday, at the earliest. At least we still have Alistair's old banger to get us to town - that experience has taught us that when the day comes and the Scenic finally bites the dust, we will not be replacing it with a Dacia. Still, any port in a storm and we are grateful for the use of it.

Good morning all. fbs today was 11.9 after a disturbed night. Blue skies and 16 degrees at the moment. My insulin has arrived and is ready for collection from the chemists so a new phase begins soon.Best wishes. :)

5.4 at 03.30 today.

Alistair phoned last night from London - just waiting to get on the overnight train to Inverness. He would have arrived there about 06.00 today and will make his way to Ullapool for the afternoon ferry. He came on his own to get things going again with the laundry and make sure B hasn't wrecked the place while they were away. DIL and Em will be picking up his new van (electric) and driving north, with a couple of family visits on the way. They'll be back by Sunday. Travel in Europe, in the kind of temperatures they have had, isn't for Alistair. He never did like the heat. He's glad to be back in the UK where it's a bit cooler. He'll be happier still by this evening to be in our 14C temperatures.

6.0 at 04.15 today.

It's cool enough in the house for the radiators to come on - so, indoors the temperature is below 17C. Not sure about outside - haven't poked my nose out yet. Forecast says it's 13C outside atm with a 60% chance of rain. With the 22 mph wind, it will be feeling more like 9C. Top temp today (before wind chill factor) will be about 15C. I've just bought my winter jumpers for this year and I'm already wearing them!

White rabbits.
Good morning all.
fbs 11.3
Goodbye to what felt like the hottest/ driest and most humid July ever and welcome to August, the last month of summer for this year. Hopefully it will bring much needed rain as well as continued sunshine. Best wishes. :)

Good morning all. fbs this morning at 5.55 am = a shocking 12.4. :arghh: Feeling decidedly poorly with a mouth/ throat infection. It's been lurking for a few days but much worse atm. Hope it's cleared by Wednesday's dental hygienist appointment! This morning is sunny with a temperature of 16 degrees but rising to 24 later. That is much better than recent heatwave temperatures. Best wishes for a peaceful Sunday. :)

8.9 at 04.00 today. Not surprised - was 10.4 when I went to bed (01.00).

New pain is making itself a nuisance atm. I don't think it is arthritis this time - might be sciatica (does that hurt even if you are resting?) Whatever, it means I can't sit, lay, stand or walk with any degree of comfort. Painkillers aren't touching it.

On the brighter side, I've finished my current writing project - apart from one little mistake I noticed just as I was finishing up last night. It will mean going back through one chapter to make sure I haven't made the same mistake elsewhere. Then I can send it for editing.

Blood sugars this Morening were 9.6

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen, yesterday afternoon we had a family BBQ and no guesses as to who indulged on the forbidden foods, naughty but nice, eye won’t be doing that again in the near future.

My koffy is ready and my earlier tea has been confined to history, such is life in Tilehurst Towers.

Hand and footnote dinner this evening is left over BBQ.
Stay cool, who remembers tie dye tee shirts?

Blood sugars this Morening are 8.1

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who remembered the summer of 1976.

The BBC’s work of science fiction and fantasy, the weather forecast is predicting a hot day, if this is so, then me, me’s and myself will be spending the day indoors.

Now it time for me to bag my spot on the sofa.

7.4. I think that was the reading to accept this morning. Bed a bit early and the reading was 8.1. Woke too early and it was still 8.1. Stayed where I was for half an hour and it was down to 7.4. Through to the kitchen around 03.00 and it was back to 8.1 and that's where it is now.

Still very sore, but the painkillers are working today (as well as they ever do) so I can manage to stand and make my way around, even though it hurts.

Good morning all. My fbs today was 9.4. I had to re-schedule my dental hygienist appointment due to my sore gums/ tongue and throat making me feel poorly. I've received an appointment for Thursday with the Diabetes service to start me off on insulin injections. It is further away from home as the local technician is off work for another 2 weeks. It is also an early appointment so an early start! Until then I will hope the Cordosyl mouthwash does the trick. Best wishes. :)

Good morning all. fbs this morning was 8.5. Managed the group walk yesterday afternoon, followed by a rest then quiz night. We didn't win but it exercised our brain cells! :D Mouth is still sore! We were told yesterday that the funding for the organised walks/ cycle rides will stop in 2 weeks time. Sad because we have made friends over the last two and a half years. The leaders are sad too. They are being moved to other ventures and are feeling unsettled. We are hoping to keep in touch with fellow walkers and plan to continue arranging some of the familiar walks informally. Not so for the cycle groups which is disappointing for my husband but he has his own cycle so will attempt to ride around locally to continue his exercise. He is out with the cycling group right now despite his plantar faciitus. He reckons it might help. I have my insulin and Freestyle Libre ready for my early appointment tomorrow. Not sure how I feel about that. Best wishes to you all. :)
