I find it rather sad that people (and dare I say many in the medical profession) seem to regard that a loss of interest in sexual activity as somehow "normal" as you get older - it is about as ridiculous as people who argue that young people under 16 dont have sexual feelings - there are no rules here I can remember sexual interest from before puberty and the interest continues to this day - the problem is that the interest is not matched with desire and capability. I honestly believe that the loss of desire has come about because of a fear or dissappointing my partner physically. I will certainly approach my GP again but recently they actually reduced my monthly supply of cialis on the basis of "new financial guidelines" to just 8 tablets a month and I understand that if I wasnt diabetic I would have trouble getting them at all. However the issue is really not how I get more tablets as they are no longer working very well anyway but how I can convince them that this is still a critical part of my life and important to my well being an the stability of my relationship.

I have to say my partner is VERY supportive but he is (yes we are gay) obviously quite frustrated that the two or three times a week before has now dropped to very occasional moments (increasingly rare as time goes on)

Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
I was told by PN that I would not automatically get a smear test call back after I was 60 because women over 60 don't have sex!!

Hi all,

Only my 2nd post here, so here goes. I am a 47 yr old male, diagnosed in Jan 09 with Type 2. Prescribed Glicazaide 4/day, Januvia 1/day and Simvastatin 1/day.

Since diagnosis (and maybe for a short while before) my capability to get and maintain an erection has rapidly diminished to the point that it is just depressing the hell out of me.

Going to see the GP about this very soon, have no idea what the response will be, but I always thought that my previously, excellent sex life would stay with me for life, just hasn't happenned :(

Just thought I would share my problems.

Cheers

Hi I have suffered from a low libido for a few years. I started when I went on to insulin. I complained to my doctor who sent me for tests and then said there was nothing wrong with me. They offered no help from there. I stopped taking my insulin and went back to my original weight and started getting erections and feelings back around the area. My wife was happy as she thought I didn't love her any more. This caused us to nearly break up several times. They only thing is my levels are now through the roof and has made me very emotional and suicidal. To the point I have tried to take my own life last week. I have felt that discussing this with your doctor seems to fall on deaf ears. I hope this helps you knowing that your not alone. Also it's good to talk with your partner as diabetes affects everyone differently and you can't compare one with another.

any one has an answers how to get you your libido back.i know people do not talk about it as as it is a tabbo subject and private.but if you have had a healthy sex drive and it is going down the pan you feel very frustrated. :?

Hi, had the same issue, it worked for me and I'm not joking.. Arizona Iced Tea with Pomegranate from Amazon, after a few days I started feeling great again. Please do be careful and check the ingredients are suitable with meds etc..

The Pomegranate, commonly known as the "Chinese
Apple",has been generating a lot of buzz over the last couple of years. And with good reason.
Pomegranates are literally packed with anitoxidants, vitamins, folic acid and other healthy stuff. And when blended with our all-natural great tea, it makes for a scrumptiously healthy drink.

Arizona Pomegranate Grean Tea also contains ingredients such as Panax Ginseng, Selenium and Vitamins A, C and E.

it's the Panax that does the trick for you. I've also started drinking 100% pure Pomegranate juice again from Amazon, make sure it's pure and. Its NOT from concentrate. Al this has made me feel much better and improve my blood circulation. Good luck!

I'd like to know too! My husband is the air I breathe, I've been type 2, on insulin for 8 years, and that's how long it has been. Are you on any other medication?
