How about politically informed with a social conscience coupled with strong moral convictions? Are you sure you're not junior Ethyl? He describes himself and his mates as cultural Marxists .or possibly more accurately a pretentious undergrads ;-)
How about politically informed with a social conscience coupled with strong moral convictions?
Aww bless! I think he sounds quite cool! God knows what mine will say about me in 10 years time! We never think our own parents are cool, do we? My father was always left wing but has become more right wing as he has grown older. He wasn't keen on Blair and I have strong suspicions that he voted for Cameron at the last election (unforgivable) Looking back, all my family has been left wing except for my grandmother who is right of Farrage (my grandfather was verging on communism so there must have been some interesting debates at times!) and my mother who isn't remotely interested in politics. There's that , but then there's the carrying round a copy of Foucault and talking about post post modernism at all times. I apparently had few string convictions which surprised me as junior accuses me of being morally and socially blinkered at every turn. I guess I just don't care enough about certain issues.
