    Set Change Day

0.3 was just what the hospital told me originally, maybe I need to increase it a bit.

    Yeah I do a 0.3 unit fill for a 6mm cannula.

    Set Change Day

I've not tried pen corrections yet, but I did increase my Basal to 125% this morning which did have a bit of an effect.

I use the Mio Sets on the Medtronic Paradigm 754

    Set Change Day

I have a few issues every time I change my set and just wondered if anyone else sees a similar trend. When I change the set it always seems like my BG goes up, like it takes the set a while to warm up. I usually end up having a low later on in the day so its like it catches up with itself...

    Exercise getting me down now!

Well done on completing the ten mile trail run @Bon83! I have been running to control my diabetes since late January, although I'm off it at the moment due to injury. It's really interesting to read the effects you are finding on the longer duration. I've not done anything that long yet, and...

    2016/17 Football Season

Exactly, the "Glamour" games usually end up being terrible. I've been a Dundee fan for my whole life, I know what rubbish football is like :D

    2016/17 Football Season

Last night I decided I'd watch the "Big Game" and yet again it was such a let down. Always seems that these games end up being so rubbish, too much to lose. More often than not it is much better watching the games between the lesser sides. My team are Dundee and after relegating our very near...

    New to type 1

As @catapillar said above, you absolutely can have chocolate and biscuits if you choose to, you just need to make sure you can match that with Insulin. If you don't want to snack on these things or find it causes issues with your blood sugar, have you tried nuts? Graze do little snack packets...

How long did you wait after funding given??

Its great you've managed to secure funding, at least you know it is going to happen. I was in the same boat as you, I had to go with Medtronic. It was agreed I could have a pump in March 2014, I didn't find out I had been approved until I asked in June 2014 as I hadn't received a letter telling...

I took part in a walk yesterday.

Well done @Type1Lad We are doing 5 x 5K events this year before our Son is 5 to raise funds for JDRF. Due to his age it has been more of a walk but he's done them. We've done 3 and got 2 left to do.

Stress, the cause of type 1

I was diagnosed during the most stressful period of my life when it was just coming to a head, the adoption of our Son. There are/were a couple of other members of my family that have Type 1, an Aunt and Grandmother, but I always feel that this event in my life maybe brought it on in me.

    Groin Injury and high sugars?

For the last couple of weeks I have been trying to do a bit of running, nothing much just following the NHS Couch to 5K podcasts. It was amazing the difference a little bit of exercise was having to my BG readings. Yesterday when I was out on the first run of week 3 disaster struck and I ended...

    Effects of stress or annoyance

Yes it can. I had a stressfull afternoon last week and later on in the evening noticed my BG rocket. The stress plus being on a temporary basal on my pump for a number of hours seemed to combine to create a very high BG.

Minimed 640g Insulin Flow Blockage Repeatedly - Help!

Hope you got everything sorted @Patch13 I had my first 'No Delivery' alarms on my pump yesterday and can see no reason why this happened so I would be interested to hear if you found a solution.

Type 1 - dealing with the shock and daily life?

Hi @Seeker2016 Being diagnosed is a big shock and there is a lot to take in. As @azure says, try and read up as much as you can. Do you have a helpline with your DSN that you can phone? My clinic run a phone line where I can leave a message and they'll get back to me. I don't use it all...

    Eurostar Security checks

Nice to hear @tim2000s We are possibly going on Eurostar next year and it would be my first time abroad since being diagnosed. When going through the security checks am I right in saying you can go through the traditional gate style scanners with your pump, it's just the full body X-Ray ones...

    Securing pump whilst sleeping

I secure my pump using the belt clip to the fromt off my pj bottoms. I normally sleep on my side or my back though, so wouldn't be such a good idea if I was to sleep on my front.
