    My resistant starch experiment

YES!!! haha at least for myself the absence of carbs and sugar has definitely changed my taste buds without a doubt! I wonder if that's what happens in reverse with smokers who quit as my late husband always swore that food suddenly tasted so much better?

Does someone want to explain it to a ten year old?

@Margarettt my goodness I am SO like you .. or at least I was until this forum ... plus online video's by Dr Pradip Jamnadas eventually drilled through my skull and the lightbulb came on! I even went off the forum at first as I just couldn't understand what A1c blood tests meant or what carbs...

    Remission programme

I think .. as most seem to ,, that it's purely down to you and how you'd feel only having liquids for all that time. I've never tried a soup, shake or liquid diet but when I do my two or three day water fasts I am always ready to feel 'real food' in my mouth again :D Go ahead! Anythings worth a...

Interesting study on time restricted feeding

That's interesting too @ianf0ster ! Could that be because you are mentally expecting your meal by 4.30/5.30pm and have delayed it perhaps

Interesting study on time restricted feeding

Interesting as I always thought that eating early effectively raises insulin more than later eating! I tend to eat only between the hours of (earliest) midday and (latest) 5pm so I wonder where that puts me!

Just told I have pre-diabetes (almost)

Hi @MimT and welcome Your post particularly 'grabbed' my attention because, just like yourself, I too was shocked to be called in to see my GP and told this news and I too also had no weight issues or family members with the condition. It took me ages to realise that carbs were a problem for...

Type 2 Lidl low GI Bread

I found it better to just disregard bread altogether rather than trying to compensate with these alternative breads'rolls. I actually don't even think about sandwiches or toast at all now. Same with desserts ... I just don't anymore LOL

    Back again!

@jpscloud it's good that you are getting the motivation back after such a vry low time in your life. I understand it completely as I also cared for my mother for a few years before I lost her, followed only nine months later by the loss of my son. Nothing challenges us more than loss. It's now...

    Off Statin or not?

Wow, fabulous results there @Mr Hairyman so congratulations! I cannot advice you on the statins as I always refused them and used Plant Sterols instead. My figures have been 38 and 40 over the past three years and I recently took myself off my one tablet of Metformin per day, but only in the...

    Hunger

Hi @cdpm ... I am a big fan of fasting! If your diet prior to a fast is carb heavy then yes, you will feel hunger, so it's best to lower carbs and start with skipping just one of your meals for a few days before attempting a fast. Or perhaps fasting for say half a day to begin with. Hunger is...

    NUTS

@Lee Terence I love nuts, but because I keep them in an airtight container in my kitchen then I get two or three brazils out, plus about three or four Pecans and walnut halves, then put the container away. I have them with my coffee break at around 11am in my lounge (well away from the box of...
