Hi I have suffered from migraines since I was 16 I usually can tell when they are about to strike because of an aura where i feel like I am on the outside looking in.. difficult to describe. Football

Berwick Rangers Newcastle United (its where I grew up before moving to the Borders) Sunderland (well its tradition for Toon fans to dislike Mackems but its all in friendly banter for most of us) I grew up in Newcastle and went to as many NUFC matches as I could. Sunderland is classed as a...

    having trouble with monitoring

Yes it said 21g but it was for two people and i only had enough sauce to cover the chicken. I know better now though :P. The thing is if I hadn't been testing and if it wasnt for this forum I would be non the wiser. I dread to think what state I would have been in by now. Mark

    having trouble with monitoring

Hi whompa The first week i was diagnosed I had 4 tablespoons of baked beans on a slice of burgen bread toasted and 2 hours afterwards when I tested my blood sugar went to 9.2. I think its probably the sauce rather than the beans but i cant be certain. Other foods that spike me are potatoes...

    Hi all newbie type 2

Re: Hi all newbie type 2 Hello and welcome to the forum from another newly diagnosed T2, what the others have said about test strips is correct, my GP/nurse wouldn't give me one as 'I don't need to test'. I went ahead and purchased a meter and strips anyway and it has helped a great deal to...

    Favourite Childhood Toys

Oh one of the best (i don't know if you could say toys) from when I was a wee boy were these wee crystal type things in a kind of tissue paper that we bought from a joke shop and when you threw them on the ground they made a bang. They were small enough to stuff into a empty pen tube and blow...
