    Hypo help!

Hi thanks for the reply. I've had such a rotten day but haven't been sick for an hour or too. Just in a lot of pain now with stomach ache & chest ache from all of the vomiting. Still feeling sick but managing to keep my soup down. I've managed to keep my bloods at around 4mmol and have put my...

    Hypo help!

Been hypo for over an hour now and it's not shifting. I've drank 3 bottles of lucozade and had a slice of bread and still no joy. I've had an upset stomach today and have been sick so I don't want to end up with ketones. Also, baby has been frantic this morning and has been shifting and...

    Hello all! Advice needed!

Hi @Polly4592 welcome to the forum! Congratulations! I was in your situation 33 weeks ago so I know how you feel. Until you get your appointment there's not a lot you can do other than keep your bloods as low as possible until you see your team. Book in to see your community midwife as well...

    after some helpful advice ...

I've been on my pump for two years and felt similar to you before I went on it. I wasn't sure how I felt being attached to a machine all of the time and leaving my life in the hands of it (me and technology don't mix!) however, my pump has changed my life and I'm annoyed at myself for not taking...

Diabetic mom or dad = diabetic baby?

Good news! Thank you both, it's always in the back of my mind. I had chicken pox twice when I was 5 and that's what set mine off. No one else in my family has it and it made me wonder what the chances of my child having it were x

    Sugar levels in pregnancy

I can only second what azure said. I'm pregnant at the moment (32 weeks) and have had this happen to me 3-4 times during my pregnancy and ended up with 20+ blood readings and ketones, in fact it happened yesterday! I didn't stress and fixed it as quickly as I could, there is nothing else you...

    Why the ketones?!

Thank you, I haven't had any other signs of labour it was just a thought. If it happens again tomorrow then I'll change everything again and take insulin from a new bottle of insulin just in case. I'll keep upping my dose as well until it comes back down, it was just really sudden. Don't...

    Why the ketones?!

Hi everyone, After a bit of help today. Bloods have been high today and yesterday and I've had ketones both days. I put yesterday's down to having a bubble in my tubing (I'm on a pump) but now I'm starting to have my doubts. At exactly the same time today my bloods went up and I had ketones...

    Night all!

Well, after a night of lows I awoke to an air bubble in my tubing that I didn't know about. The outcome was high bgs and ketones :( Managed to get rid of ketones and bg is down to 10.0 so I'm off to bed and I will try again tomorrow! Wishing you all a hypo/high free night! Claire x

    necrotuosis lipoidica diabeticorum

I have. I've been T1 for 20 years and have had this for around 4 years. Unfortunately I've tried different creams, lotions and dermatologists and nothing worked. The next step after that for me was steroid injections into the patch. I haven't had it done yet because I got pregnant just before...

    Naff Night!

It's rubbish! I'm thinking about reducing my night time basal. At the moment I'm running it slightly higher than normal so I'm cancelling it. Will see what happens tonight! Try and have a nap later :) x
