I'm taking pregabalin for neuropathy. Have it quite bad atm. I find alcohol interferes with the medication and yes it makes the pain worse. If I drink I have spirits in small amounts, avoid beer.

Sounds like too much basal and not enough bolus insulin. Figure out ur basal by basal testing then figure out ur ratio to carbs and reduce carb intake.

Yes all beers are different in regards to carbs but it's true what they say about it being liquid bread. Beer sends my sugars up sky high.

2 beers would require bolus insulin. For me 2 units of Novarapid. It's similar to eating 2 slices of bread for me I would need 2 units of Novarapid for.

I take 10 units of Lantus at 11am and 8 units at 11pm. The evening dose works very well over night. Sometimes the morning dose I crash about 4pm but tried lowering the morning dose to 9 units then my sugars run too high all day. Overall spilting Lantus works much better than one dose.

Glucose control was poor for a few years. Recently improved it. I did try gabapentin for a different problem a few years ago and it didn't help, found pregabalin helped. Perhaps I will put that to them.

I had to keep pestering for a face to face gp appointment. Consultantion lasted 1 hour! Had 2 doctors looking at me some of that time. Guessing they have plenty of time. Prob sat at home doing telephone appointments half their time.
