    Omnipod Issues

Hello, I’ve been type one for over 20 years. Always been well controlled. I was on injections but have been on the Omnipod for the past 2 and a half years due to wanting to extend our family and a previous pregnancy where my diabetes battled my hormones and was difficult to control. I have...

Update!!! She’s here!!! She was born yesterday at 34+6 weighing a MASSIVE 8lb 6oz!! My placenta was described as starting to crumble and ‘iffy’ even though it was huge, it was starting to deteriorate! So it was a good job the decision was made to get her out!! I’ve no idea why she was so huge...

    33+5 insulin requirements dropping!!

Thank you for your responses- my insulin requirements seem to have come back up! I’m on twice daily ctgs and twice weekly cord dopplers! Baby still could come next week, but I’m glad I will be over 35 weeks - almost 36 and I’m glad I will be so closely monitored! To be honest I’d prefer if...

    33+5 insulin requirements dropping!!

Thanks so much for sharing your story! We spoke to the neonatal team manager today who was absolutely amazing! He answered all our questions and really put our minds at ease! It’s almost made me feel a little better that it’s me that’s ‘unwell’ and not baby! I’m pretty sure my dates are right...

Help! I’m 33+5 today and over the past few days my insulin requirements have dropped quite dramatically! I’ve basically had no basal on for a day. I’ve dropped my carb ratio and still it’s dropping! I’m in hospital to be monitored as I write this! Baby seems happy on the monitor! What could...

I’m SO frustrated!!! Baby is measuring massive (around 5lb) at 31 weeks! My Hba1c has been brilliant throughout my pregnancy and even before conception!! The highest it has been is 5.8% or around 40! Why is this happening!! I can’t physically do any more to control my bloods and the diabetes...

23 weeks baby’s tummy measuring big

Hi all, So I had my scan at 23 weeks and baby’s tummy was measuring almost on the 97th percentile at 24+2 days. Legs were measuring a bit bigger and head was right on gestation. I’m being scanned again in 3 weeks, but I seem to have big babies! I’m type one. My first son was 11lb 1oz at 38...

    Pump failings

Not really @donnellysdogs it can leak underneath to begin with before becoming obvious at the front! Occasionally I have noticed it at the front and done just that, but I can usually smell insulin if it’s leaking... Theo my trouble is with a growing baby belly the pods are getting further away...

    Pump failings

Thanks @Juicyj! It really does stress me out! And it seems to be taking me longer when pregnant to regain control, a time when control is vital! I’m thinking now if I have a pump failing I may correct with a pen to try bring it down a little faster instead of correcting with the new pod. X

    Pump failings

I’m on the Omnipod and this week I’ve had 2 pods leak out the majority of my lunchtime bolus and one that didn’t leak but didn’t deliver. Resulting in sugars of 20 less than an hour after! I’m very well controlled and I know it isn’t a carb ratio/basal issue! When this happens, with the help...

It took me a while to get my head round when I changed too!! I have 0.25 of a unit per hour from 00:00 to 02:00 and I’m still going hypo! Then at 02:00 it changes to 1.75 units per hour until 08:00 and I’m still rising about 5am briefly x x x

    20+5 need help!!!

Thanks @Tilly_S! I found I could do that on pens in my first pregnancy, but I can’t with my pump despite trying! I am going to up my insulin carb ratio at all meals and see if this helps! The only trouble is if I do that at tea time it’s difficult to get at the right level before bed. Last...

    Hypo treatments

Hello, I’m roughly 7-8 weeks pregnant! I need any alternative hypo treatments! I used to use lucazade which I didn’t mind, but now since lucazade has changed I have to use jelly babies! For example we do a mile walk each day at school and before my sugar was 5.2, usually is just have had a...

    Rant!!

I know it seems that way, and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, just sometimes I wish that they didn’t sound like they were reading from a text book and apply things to real life. The thing with me is, I have been absolutely spoilt rotten, my diabetes nurse I had for 10 years was incredible...
