Type 2 Itch driving me crazy, scratching doesn't help!!!

Thanks everyone. No change in drugs, or food, or soap, or anything else. It has happened before. My BG did spike this morning (I wasn't hungry so didn't eat, and I guess my liver chucked out a load of glucose), but this started last night when my BG levels were normal. I do have terrible PN in...

Type 2 Itch driving me crazy, scratching doesn't help!!!

Hi everyone. I have had this before on other parts of my body, but since last night this itch has affected one spot - just above my wrist at the base of my palm. It comes and goes, but it is driving me crazy. It is like being tickled from inside my wrist by a feather, but scratching does not...

New cravings after weeks of low carb

All my life my downfall has been my sweet tooth. I low carb now, but have tried without success to halt the sweet cravings. I know they go hand in hand with anxiety, and I eat sugar free sweets when I need them. I know I should cut them out, but my anxiety prevents me ... I am trying though.

Thank you everyone. Pain is much less today, but think it's the antibiotics working.

    Type 2 Foot infection

Actually, my doctor today recommended I do that twice a day to help draw out the infection. I often soak my feet in water with Epsom salts - today though it did nothing for the pain.

    Type 2 Foot infection

I have an infection under a toe nail, the pain got worse during the morning, didn't improve with paracetamol and ibuprofen. Went to the doc, on 4 antibiotics a day and she gave me codeine for the pain. Been taking the codeine every four hours, but the pain is as intense, and I can't even bear a...

    Type 2 Peripheral neuropathy pains

Sunil 12408, I take magnesium every day, have an Epsom salts bath and occasionally use a spray magnesium on my feet - no reduction in symptoms. :grumpy: What type of magnesium do you take, and how much, please?

    Type 2 Peripheral neuropathy pains

I am suffering such terrible PN pains at night that I never get a good night's sleep, even with sleeping tablets - the pains wake me up. I have tried gabapentin, pregabalin and amytriptiline, all of which had terrible side-effects for me. I have tried supplements - ALA, B12, and others...

Type 2 Is my toe about to drop off?

Back from the chiropodist. Apparently, it is a "caustic" reaction to tea tree oil !!! I use tea tree oil to keep fungal nail infections at bay, and had rubbed some on that toe, and it reacted. She said the thinking is now that tea tree oil can be too harsh for some people - she recommended...

Type 2 Is my toe about to drop off?

Good morning everyone. I have a PN question. I have had PN for a number of years, but I do take very good care of my feet. A few days ago I noticed that my second toe nail had turned brown, and as I do suffer from slight fungal problems in my toes (under control with my chiropodist) I started...

    Type 2 Help!

Firstly, Daibell, I have asked my DN by e-mail if I can go back to my old regime for now. Winnie, I would be so grateful for your help. I will PM you in the next day or so, if that is OK.

    Type 2 Help!

Hope it all goes well for you. We got new DN, and I think she just wanted to make her mark. I've only been on Humulin for around 2 months, but my BGs have been all over the place. I would love to find someone who could look at my diet and lifestyle, and recommend an insulin, medication and...

    Type 2 Help!

Ickihun, you are a star!! Thank you so much, and that is exactly what I will do. Fasting this morning, 15.2. Took 3 extra units before breakfast. I will compose an e-mail today to my DN asking if I can return to using Levemir and Apidra until I see her in late June. Someone told me they were...

    Type 2 Help!

I was told to take 58 units before breakfast, and 32 before dinner. Before, if I knew I was going to eat some carbs, I would take Apidra, but I have been told to take Humulin only twice a day, 12 hours apart, and increase it by two units if the previous reading was high.
