    type 2,DR saying I need insulin

    Stan, After nearly 5 years on oral meds, I have moved to insulin only. Like you I didn't like the idea of it but it gives you a lot of control to really keep you numbers in check. I actually now prefer it to oral medication.

    Driving Licence restricted to 3 years

    Thanks everybody for the replies. I just wanted to check I was getting the standard treatment. The document says I can no longer drive a minibus or light lorries which is no great loss. I do sometimes hire a Mercedes Vito 9 seater for family trips. Just hope that isn't class as a mini bus...

    Hi, I informed DVLA that I am now taking insulin. They wrote back and said that my existing licence will be revoked and I will only get a licence if I agree to short period licence of 3 years. Looks like I have no choice, but was wondering if this standard practice ? Paul

    Stress, High BG and Fast Acting insulin

    Thanks for the help Had another high reading today of 12.8 at 11:15. Took 2u of Humalog and was down to 3.1 by 12:30. More effective than I expected, almost 5mmol per unit. Made quick exit to canteen ! I'm very new to fast acting insulin and can see already how much care needs to be taken Paul
