sorry if you think this is a stupid question, I was only diagnosed with type 2 just over a month ago, I’m 23 years old.
I’d say for the last 4 weeks my blood sugars in the morning are between a 4.2 and 5.1.
It’s usually the same before meals.
And after meals it’s usually never above a 7.2...
So I received a letter to book an appointment for eye check....I am wondering would I still need to go if I regularly go to the opticians ? I have an Opticians appointment on Tuesday
Hi welcome to the forum! I have only been diagnosed since the middle of March and it’s neen a rollercoaster of knowing what to eat and what not.....
The first thing I did was get a meter to check my blood sugar levels before and after meals.
I havnt cut carbs to a very low amount, I probably...
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. As I read if someone is obese they can put diabetes into remission by losing a lot of weight because of fat around the organs goes away and the organs can then work properly again....so it made me think if someone lost half of their body weight and had unknown...
I agree with everything you’ve said....but let’s say they kept the weight off by eating a healthier diet and stuck to it regardless of exercise or when I mean exercise it could be just walking or moderate nothing excessive
I guess it also depends on how many carbs is too much for a individual....for example my blood in the morning is around a 4.3 - 4.9 ususally and after meals it’s no more than a 7, usually a 6.5 and return to normal levels 2 hrs post meal....I tracked my carbs too I eat between 150-200 grams a...
this is something I’ve been really thinking about...even if it may sound stupid to some....I didn’t have symptoms of diabetes until my blood test stated my blood sugars was high.....
So let’s say for example there’s a person out there who is diabetic but they don’t know it, let’s say they are...
so I was diagnosed the beginning of March, I have since lost 1.5 stone (still have 7 to lose)....so for the past 2-3 weeks my blood sugars have been perfect...when I wake up it’s between a 4.2-4-7.....after my meals it usually is around less than 6 one hour post meal and below 5 2 hrs....I...
hi everyone so today before lunch my blood was 5.0 mmol.....
One hour post meal it was 5.5
Two hour post meal it was 6.6
Three hours post meal back to 5
Was the rise and length of it good?
I 100% agree there, to me it’s important I do get down to non- diabetic levels and maintain it, but as long as I’m healthy and don’t get any health conditions I will be fine
I agree that some do put it all on once they’ve lost the weight....but I also know a lot of people who have done it and maintained it for years....as well with slimming world once you reach your target weight you don’t just stop going...you get given advice and a booklet on maintaining the...
I would t say the first number means remission personally maybe after another a1c in the normal range or even a year...I know some people have a different idea of numbers that mean remission
What do you mean?
I’m asking this question because I’m interested in how many people that are in remission and how long they’ve been that way....how is that a problem?
how long have you been in remission for? Has it been harder than you thought to maintain normal blood glucose levels?
Has your diet slightly changed since going into remission (are you more strict with your diet or can be a tiny bit flexible)
