Before breakfast... what should I do?

Yep, it has to be really chunky, bitter marmalade, with a hint of sweet. My dad makes the best. He and I agree that the optimum amount of marm with a slice of toast (earthy, nutty bread, cut with a knife - not pre-cut), which is smothered in real butter is about half a jar!!!! Oh...

    Newbie - diagnosed today

I was diagnosed a few weeks ago and I was given 3 months diet and losing weight etc. I was also blood tested to make sure I was T2, I was also given test strips to test my blood (though I had to make a bit of a fuss for them). You need to get the information - great place this, and get...

New to forum and a need advice please.

Well, I am newly diagnosed, but I had found that putting fewer carbs in my body (egg & bacon for breakkie, salad with meat/fish at lunch and meat/fish with vegetables for dinner - along with some cheese and nuts for snacks), my sugar levels are better. :) Have you read on here about the low...

    thought

I am newly diagnosed too and it has been really really hard to come to terms with - crying and eating bad things... luckily that didn't happen too often. I have done low carb before and felt great on it (8 years ago), so I had my head around it. But for two weeks I did low fat/low sugar and...

    As I often suspected.....UPDATE!

Re: As I often suspected..... It has been a revelation coming on here - I cannot BELIEVE the inconsistencies there are. I mean 2m people have diabetes, how hard is it to get it right!!!????? I feel for you honey, what is the outcome?

Type 1 and 2 - low carb for all?

So basically stuffing yourself with carbs all day can only do one thing - raise your sugar level. So low carb (how many grams are we talking here? Or does it depend on the individual?) The idea is to eat small amounts regularly to give you enough sugar but not too much to give stupid readings...

Before breakfast... what should I do?

Thanks - yeah, I had to argue the toss about getting some new test strips for my MediSense machine - they really weren't keen for me to test. I have to say I am feeling really tired, probably getting used to lower blood sugars, but also emotional and confused about my diet....I mean I had an...
