Thank you everyone. I know it’s early days and now I have to lower a bit more and sustain but I am thrilled.

    Hba1c result smashed.

T2 diagnosed April 19. 500mg metformin. Just had my first Hba1c re-test results - down from 106 to 43. Still being monitored and on metformin for another three months as such early days. I have balled like a baby but feel very proud. Have followed a low-carb diet and basically eaten out of...

    Mood and T2

Thanks. Will do. I don’t regularly monitor, usually now only when I have a new food that I want to test.

    Mood and T2

I am swimming over a mile at least three times a week. On the days I don’t swim I am finding my mood...

    Sustainable lifestyle change

Thank you. I have a long way to go and am determined. This is more of a wondering about the future post that feeling like I want anything specific now. I am happy with what I am eating but am going to monitor my blood sugars more closely. Good luck with your journey too.

Falling off the no carb wagon!!

I find abstinence easier than moderating foods. I’m an all or nothing girl really. I haven’t eaten bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, chocolate, sweets - anything higher than 5g carb per 100g - since being diagnosed T2 two months ago. I don’t crave these foods now, my meals satisfy me and I feel a...

    Sustainable lifestyle change

I’m not currently testing, my diabetic nurse didn’t think it was worth it presently. My Hbac1 was really high (106) so I know I have a long way to go and am committed to making this better.

    Sustainable lifestyle change

I am T2, diagnosed approx 2 months ago and prescribed Metformin 500mg. I have worked really hard to change my diet/lifestyle and have been really strict with myself following a low carb diet and intermittent fasting. I have lost a stone in weight so far and am feeling positive and determined...

    Type 2 Down the pub

No, the GP literally just said you are ‘well diabetic’ and make an appointment with her nurse.
