I have the Alpro that's like yogurt-three dessert spoons, shake of cinnamon, small amount almonds and walnuts and small amount of berries and am ok with levels. Also it's lovely! You will have to experiment with quantities.

Skin problems and rashes in T2

Was the anti histamine a tablet prescribed by your doc or can you buy over the counter! I have only been given ointment by my doc. Thanks for reply-I am at my wits end with this. I am diet only and can't blame it on the medication.

Skin problems and rashes in T2

I am T2 and I have started having skin problems-a rash which affects my eyelids, sides of mouth, behind and in both ears. The only way I can describe it is like baby eczema. I have tried several ointments both from the doctor and over the counter without much success. Has anyone else had...

    Weight Loss and Diabetes

When people say 'eat good fat' what exactly is classed as good fat? I am low carbing or attempting to but doc says my cholesterol is remaining high at 6.5 and wants to prescribe a statin. test strip results and HbA1c results

There is an HbA1c converter on this site which I find very good. Think the trick is to aim as near the non diabetic levels as possible by blood glucose testing to see which foods are ok for yourself-people can differ. T1 and T2 are very different and I think a lot of the literature given out is...

    Can't Cope With Other People

Mood swings come with diabetes I have read and also the anger you are feeling could be because of your diagnoses-'why me'. The shock of being diagnosed is a big thing because your old life has gone and you need to adjust to a new way of living. It is probably depression that you are feeling and...

Questions - am I on track?

Hi Mary re your breakfast results difference between the bacon and sausage-sausage has hidden carbs-they bulk the meat out with breadcrumbs I believe-would explain the slight difference. Congratulations on your achievement so far! I have found that the more you research diabetes the more you get...

    The Hairy Dieters

I use Sainsbury's unsweetened soya milk at only 69p. It tastes like milk to me and doesn't curdle in coffee like some others do.

    Svetol

Thanks for that. I have seen an advertisement for chewing gum with it in and hadn't heard of it before so looked on the Internet. If I have got it right it is supposed to stop excess sugar being absorbed in the intestines and stored as fat. It was the idea of the sugar being stopped from getting...

6.5 according to Collins gem calorie counter which lists protein, carbs, fat and fibre. You are confusing carbs with protein.

    HbA1c and Embarrassing question.

I was told years ago that antibiotics often resulted in a dose of thrush after the course has finished. Antibiotics kill off the bacteria that helps keep fungal infections away apparently.
