    Rule of 15, my ****.

It must be some NHS rule as I got told exactly the same when I got my pump in July. Don't follow this rule myself though. Glad you got yourself sorted:)

    Baby cards?

Hi Emmi! Congratulations on your pregnancy - you must be so excited:). Re-your question: when my nephew was born 13 weeks ago we got a card from my sister in law just like you would do in Germany. Other friends who had kids haven't sent cards. I think it depends on the parents really. I think...

What was your Hba1c result while pregnant?

Well done on getting your HbA1c so low. Mine has been sitting at 6 for a while already (I think almost all year). I'm not pregnant yet though.:)

New Flash Glucose Monitoring from Abbott - Bloodless Testing

I emailed them the other day asking when it would be launched in the UK and available to public and they got back to me within half a day saying their webshop will be launched in the next few days. Okay she didn't give me an exact date but hopefully "the next few days" won't be long as I can't...

Anybody on here with an MSA rally license?

Oh I see. Yeah racing/rallying doesn't come cheap. Did you race at Nurburgring? I LOVE Nurburgring:) it's the most amazing track I've ever been on. I went last in summer 2011 in my classic mini. It was great fun:D

Anybody on here with an MSA rally license?

Thanks both. I just hope it all doesn't take too long as I originally wanted to do my first event on 12th October. That obviously won't happen now. So fingers crossed for 22nd November and that I have my license for that one :) Can I ask Chris_Cousins_ what happened to your license? Did you not...

Anybody on here with an MSA rally license?

Hi all, not too sure if that's the right topic where I'm posting but here's my potential problem: I am wondering if there is anyone on this forum here being a type 1 diabetic who is holding an MSA competition license? I took part in a rally co-drivers' course in August and after completing it...

Diabetic complications or am I going mad?!!!

Just with regards to low thyroid - thyroid has a wide range of levels that are regarded as normal by GPs (because they don't know any better). My endo likes to keep my TSH between 0 and 2 and that's when I feel normal as in not tired, not irritated etc. - I December last year my GP checked my...

    OMNIPOD

I will be getting an Omnipod on the NHS later this year. I'm terrified and really looking forward to it at the same time after 35 years on injections:). The Omnipod was the only pump I was considering really as I don't like all the tubing. Ha and I will be the first patient in West Cumbria on it...

Driving licence for type 1 - how long did it take you to obtain one?

I am trying since September last year to get my full German license swapped against a full UK one. Needless to say I am almost a the point of giving up. The DVLA is useless. Now, I do hope it won't take that long for you but I wouldn't put money on it. Good luck!!

    What to expect...?

Hey LemonTree - I was exactly the same in October last year when I went with my husband to the pre-conception clinic the very first time. At that point my HbA1c was 7.2 and the doctor said we were fine to go and told me to avoid having too many hypos - I rather go low than high as well. I have...

    Private Health Insurance

Hi all, I have a question: I was wondering whether or not to take out private health insurance and was looking at this link: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetic-health-insurance.html I gave them a ring and they basically told me this one provider they had is still there and can give you private...
