Hi all,

I have a question: I was wondering whether or not to take out private health insurance and was looking at this link: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetic-health-insurance.html
I gave them a ring and they basically told me this one provider they had is still there and can give you private insurance, BUT they exclude 7 things that might well be related to diabetes like for example stroke, heart attack, rethinopathy etc. There were a few more, but it was basically 7 major things that can happen if you are a diabetic so that's no good obviously.

I am wondering - is there any insurance out there that's still taking diabetics on? or not? Any ideas or suggestions much appreciated :D

Hiya,

I have private medical insurance. It does not cover my diabetes or anything diabetes related. I've had to use it a couple of times - once for an op and once for physio after I hurt my back. Both times it was so worth the money!

As you can see from this article it is highly unlikely that you will get an insurance to cover existing conditions.
There is usually so much small print that even people who do not have a chronic condition find they have to put up a fight when they become ill with a chronic or terminal condition.
