    Slight accident with Lantus

My diabetic specialist has moved my Lantus down to 14 two night ago to try to stop my constantly dropping levels. Out of habit I accidentally gave myself 15. I still can't believe how much difference one unit makes. The second night on 14 I hovered around the 7-8s all night, last night with...

    Glucose Meters

I have just had a look at contour next usb, pretty nice product! How is the accuracy compared to my current? I will do a google on this just wondered personal experiences as official number can not always reflect true usage. The accu chek mobile appears to make life that bit easier with the...

    Glucose Meters

Hello All. I am trying to source the best meter. On face value the Accu-Chek mobile seems the easiest to use. I have applied for one but I am still waiting. My current glucose meter is a Freestyle Optium Neo which is ok but I have seen a lot of hate for the Neo. I am looking for anyone who can...

    Dropped my Guard!!

Yes I did expect it to rocket up, so maybe the honeymoon period came in handy for a change! How long did it last for other people? I know it can range from weeks to months, possibly years, but just curious from other people.

    Dropped my Guard!!

Today I was having one of the best days in regards to my levels, I have been enduring the honeymoon period for the last week and half. After getting frequent low glucose alerts through the day and night I dropped my insulin across the board (while discussing with my specialist). Finally over...

Replaced the sensor today! Two weeks and three days. I wanted to switch to the weekend. Good news it took me 15 minutes to press the needle in versus the hour the first one took. Following @TorqPenderloin 's advice, i haven't applied any extra dressing aside from the skin tac. The opsite was...

    Monitoring your numbers

I have just had a look for you, mysugr says in the app description that is has Apple Health integration :). Think of apple health as a catalog or collection of all your health data from apps. E.g. My jawbone feeds my activity into the steps/ active energy and distance categories. My cgm records...

    Monitoring your numbers

There is also Diasend, most glucose meters and CGM/ pumps can be connected and it gives you a full picture of your results. Its free too! You can also connect to your clinic (if they use it) so they can look up your stats.

I ended up removing the old opsite (or as much of it that i could, cut around the rest). I reapplied some skin tac to the edges that were peeling and placed the opsite over the adhesive (I cut two 'C's and overlap - good as new! The shower messes with the readings a little (maybe blood runs...

Its going very well! I am a few days into week two with my original sensor, i find it sometimes reads me a bit lower (max but very rarely a whole 1 mmol) but thats now and then. I am in the honeymoon period as all my patterns have gone and I seem to be constantly snacking to avoid lows (trying...

My pancreas has just started up again (honeymoon period) and it has been messing with my readings. My morning bg was high (9s this morning) and through the day between meals i struggle with it ticking down to low glucose - the g5 has stopped every one turning into a hypo. I had one on Monday...

@TorqPenderloin I definitely agree with the water issue. I noticed on day two there was water trapped under the onsite, and I can see see under the onsite that the sensor adhesive is lifting in areas. I will hopefully push this to week 2 and then call it. My little repair seems to have worked...

Sensor Update : Starting week 2 with my first sensor, a little TLC around the edges of the onsite which has lost a little bit of its sticky. Warm up completed and off I go again! I am very impressed with the Opsite, good suggestion from the forum members :) I am considering removing it at week...

@JennyNash I am the opposite, the hypos don't scare me as much as the high sugar! I know I get plenty of warnings with a cgm and when i see it rise past 8 i start walking around to get it down asap while stressing.

    Monitoring your numbers

Apple Health actually saved me to be honest, as an active person I logged my weight and around the same time as a diet change (trying to get the 5 a day) I noticed I was losing weight, but it kept going down and down so a trip to the GP it was. Oh hi, you have type 1!

    Monitoring your numbers

@paula.nolan42 it is in the settings, sharing and privacy, health kit sharing (anything called HealthKit basically links to Apple Health app). It is basically a storage of you health data from all apps that support it, different apps can read it and write to it. It is a very smart idea.

    Monitoring your numbers

I use Apple Health, once i take a reading just pop it in the glucose levels section. As I am also a newbie, I have been using my fitness pal to log my meals which is connected to Apple health so my carbs get automatically added to the carb category. Then you can have a side by side comparison...
