Slight accident with Lantus

My diabetic specialist has moved my Lantus down to 14 two night ago to try to stop my constantly dropping levels.

Out of habit I accidentally gave myself 15. I still can't believe how much difference one unit makes. The second night on 14 I hovered around the 7-8s all night, last night with the 15 I was woken up twice by my Dexcom.

I don't want to hover on the 8s all night, but I don't want to be waking up and eating **** all morning (it tends to slow down in the evening - must have worked itself out throwing all its insulin at me! When will this period end!!!)

Any advice, I spoke about half units following a previous post but apparently they don't do any?! Can I move back to 14 tonight? Even though I have only just changed to 15 for one night? Is it worth it to hover so high? I could phone my specialist but they usually take a day to get back to me.

It would be best to stick with the 14 units for several nights to see if there is a pattern. One off readings are not good for making adjustments - it might have been something unrelated that caused the 7-8 overnight levels.

Ahh awesome, 14 tonight! I know it says you can change it every 3 days but i wasn't sure if it was best to stick to 15 for the next two day or just carry on and ignore it.

It's best to avoid risk of hypo and work your way up
