Is exercise pushing my blood sugar up?

Hello, I am newly diagnosed (6 weeks ago), after a random blood test gave a reading of 18 followed by an HbA1C of 97. GP suggested I try to lose some weight (BMI of 27) and retest the HbA1C in 3 months before considering meds. Since then I have researched on here, and stuck to a LCHF diet. I...

My understanding is between 4 and 6, but I'm very new here so might have misunderstood. I haven't managed under 6 yet :(

    Should I eat breakfast?

@joshua 09, I'm happy to heat cold hard boiled eggs. My readings were highish today, I ate salad for lunch, chicken and green veg for dinner, went to the gym for two hours and my post dinner 2-hour reading (after 1 hour in the gym) was 10.2! I cannot understand how it went that high. I've...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

@britishpub, I'm obviously far too impatient! My HBA1C was 97 at the point of diagnosis one month ago, and I want to magically get all my readings low overnight! Thanks for sharing your experience, I know it will take time but I am determined.

6.8 at 7am. Not sure how to get it down further. It was only 6.7 after dinner yesterday!

    Should I eat breakfast?

Well, I had a reading of 6.8 on waking. Zapped the bacon and mushrooms in the microwave and made coffee with cream (heaven). Reading one hour after breakfast was 8.5, 2 hours after breakfast was 8.3, 4 hours after breakfast it was 6.1. So not brilliant, but not as bad as I feared, and better...

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

No breakfast Lunch = bacon, eggs, mushrooms cooked in butter Snack = brazil nuts Dinner = salmon with pesto dressing, vegetable "couscous" (ie very ginrly chopped veg, stir fried), and roccoli, followed by a handful of raspberries with double cream. Yum. High readings this morning until I...

    How do Itag someone?

Thanks @urbanracer. I thought it would be more complicated than that!

    Should I eat breakfast?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I now have bacon and mushrooms (cooked) in the fridge, waiting to be microwaved first thing tomorrow, and we'll see what happens. On the plus side, my bs reading 2 hours after lunch was 6.5 and one hour before dinner was 5.1. So at least it hasn't stayed high...

    How do Itag someone?

Hi, I'm probably being really thick here, but I can't work out how to tag someone when I'm replying to a post. Im fairly new to this site but already it's been so useful. Is there some "tag" button somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

    Should I eat breakfast?

Ok, I give in! I'll eat the bacon hot. I can also save time by leaving the pan for my husband to wash up

    Type 2 Bg and exercise

That's really interesting. I'm recently diagnosed T2 and started testing a few days ago. I exercise every evening after work, and my evening readings sre ok. This morning I went to the gym having not eaten for 14 hours, reading was 6.7 before I went and 10.2 after!! I was expecting it to drop...

    Should I eat breakfast?

I think my husband would divorce me if I set the alarm any earlier! I have to leave the house by 07.30 to get to work, he doesn't leave until 08.30. But I am seriously contemplating making hardboiled eggs and bacon the evening before, and eating them cold for breakfast as I would have time to...

    Should I eat breakfast?

Hi, I am eating cauliflower rice regularly, and love it. I'm very lazy - I know I could/should make my own but Tesco sell it ready done in their "prepared veg" section. I cant imagine eating it for breakfast though.

    Should I eat breakfast?

Hi, thanks for your replies. I'm not eating any bread at the moment (I wish!). No wheat, pitatoes, rice or grains. I could cook boiled eggs in advance, and eat a couple with coffee in the morning before going to work. The idea of coffee with cream seems counter intuitive to me but I am...

    Should I eat breakfast?

Hi, I was diagnosed T2 on New Years Eve, with an HbA1C reading of 97. GP advised me to try to lose weight (BMI of 27, about 1.5 stone overweight) and so I have embarked on a LCHF diet, although more LC than HF! If I don't get my HbA1C reading down, then GP will consider meds. So I have been...
