    Antidepressants Poll

Yes I have generalised anxiety disorder also. I think diabetes makes it worse though.

    Antidepressants Poll

Yes. Good point. If taking before diagnosis there wouldn't really be a link in that case.

    Antidepressants Poll

Yes. It's complex. Anxiety and depression can hang around for years for various reasons and diabetes just adds to the stress.

    Antidepressants Poll

Great reply . I've always been anxious and a strong family history of it also. I think diabetes has made it worse though. My psychiatrist tells me he has a lot of diabetic patients which made me wonder how strong the link was.

    Antidepressants Poll

Just interested how many people with diabetes take antidepressants / anxiety meds. My doctor recently commented more diabetics are on them then we probably realise.

    Gastroparesis Question

Yes, unfortunately I don't think many dieticians have expertise in gastroparesis- they just don't get it. My gastroenterologist just suggests small meals regularly. I don't think he really had any helpful advice either. It's the pain and the unpredictability in an already unpredictable disease...

    Gastroparesis Question

Yes. I used to use an extended bolus when I was on the pump. It's harder now I'm back on injections. I often inject half a dose when my sugar starts to rise and then the other half a bit later if it still continues to rise. Last night I didn't even bolus at all for dinner as my sugar didn't...

    Gastroparesis Question

I'm on novorapid for bolus. Doctor happy with that. He says just bolus after food on " bad days". It's just so unpredictable..... and painful

    Gastroparesis Question

For those with gastroparesis do you find you need to bolus after food instead of before or with food ? I find at dinner time I often have to wait for the dexcom up arrow to appear otherwise I'll go too low. Sometimes I even wait and just correct later. It's a horrid complication and I find...

    Needle Tip Sizes

Which muscle do you use ? Arms or leg for a quick correction. I've only done it once when I was on the pump and it failed and injected into the arm muscle -- it did the trick ;)

    Needle Tip Sizes

I use the novo nordisk novofine plus 4mm. Also do you "pinch" the skin before injecting. I was taught many years ago to but with the 4mm apparently there is no need to as it is so small it would not hit muscle anyway.

    Needle Tip Sizes

I agree the 6mm do look long when compared to the 4mm. ;)

    Needle Tip Sizes

Yes I do rotate but maybe not as well as I think ;) I'll give the 4mm a go

    Needle Tip Sizes

Yes. I do rotate. But probably is worth giving the 4mm a go in my legs. :)

    Needle Tip Sizes

For those using insulin pens which size needle do you use ? Do you stick to the one size or change depending on injection site ? I use 4mm for my stomach and arms for novorapid but always use 6mm for my levemir which I give in my legs. I'm getting heaps of bruises and lumps on my legs though...

    Levemir Split Doses

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was just curious as when I started back on injections it was 7 and 7. But I found I was going too high through the day and lower at night. Probably need to do some daytime fasting basal testing to be totally sure.

    Levemir Split Doses

Just curious : For those who split levemir doses are your doses the same. I have 12 units at 6am and 4 units at 6pm.

    Work And Diabetes

Thanks so much for your reply. I was on the pump for many years which allowed a lot of freedom. Now I'm using injections again DAFNE maybe worth considering.

    Bent Pen Needle

Thanks. I do use a new needle each time but I probably don't rotate as much as I should ;)

    Insulin Pens

Thank you. Feeling reassured now :)
