    Yes you do need to see a GP. As already stated it will take time to arrange for bloods to be taken, get the results and then an apointment with the Diabetic Nurse, if needed. One word of advice, I used to love Red Bull but now no longer drink them as they are full of sugar - just read the label!

    How often do you have your HBa1c tested?

    Initially when first diagnosed and when my HbA1c was still quite high I had it checked every 3 months. Now my HbA1c is stable it is checked every 6 months with an annual blood check of fasting lipids, UE's, LFT's, Thyroid function, HbA1c and urine
