    The 'Elusive' Ketones!

There appears to be posters asking questions about ketones, although I'm testing at the moment by using sticks, I'm confused too. A stick I used before I went to bed showed up quite dark, yet in the morning the stick showed there weren't any ketones.... what's going on? There appears to be...

    Keto the best way forward?

There are lots of 'keto experts' on Internet, when in fact they are merely saying what works for them! In my view it's a voyage of discovery, we're all different. The idea of keto is to eat under 20g carbs a day. Take a look at dietdoctor.com, you can trust that website. Join an app that...

Gotten into terrible addictive eating pattern

It'll be a NO for beans, toast, pizza, chips - roast dinner is fine so long as there're no potatoes. I believe there're some Indian dishes that don't carry too many carbs. Have you got a blood glucose meter? It would help you to discover what foods are causing you a problem.

Gotten into terrible addictive eating pattern

This is what I'm afraid of, something quite simple can trigger me to binge. I've removed anything that's tempting away, I get tortured by these things being in the cupboard. I'm debating with myself at the moment, should throw out half a jar of peanut butter that's in the cupboard? Just a...

Type 2 Does anyone have any experience on metformin?

It took just 3 tablets to say 'no more'! I've now gone full on keto and have never felt so well for a long time, nor have I enjoyed my food so much. I bought a blood glucose meter and I analyse each food 1-2 hours after eating to get a good idea what food spikes an insulin reaction. Some on...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Starting not to feel too guilty when indulging in 5-6 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs for breakfast. It suddenly dawned that I'm only replacing the slices of bread I would have had with the extra rashers. Somehow 6 rashers of crispy bacon sounds so decadent. Dinner, fish pie... chunks of...
