@Resurgam Where are you buying your 95% from. I used to get one from Lidls but it hasn’t been on the shelf for about a year. Now buying Montezumas 100% with orange niblets which I love, but is a little expensive. Mind you it lasts me about 10 days.
Hi @PatsyB they do generally differ yes, as Libre reads interstitial fluid and glucose monitors read actual blood. The beauty of Libre is the arrows and trends. Very important for people on insulin. Did you check the Libre reading 10 mins later to see if the levels had risen to nearer the blood...
A very old fashioned view with CGMs these days. As someone with a 41 and few hypos (none in the last month) I would object if I was told it was too low.
@ravensmitten after years of use I found the quickest way to clean these sorts of implements is to just use in water with a small amount of washing liquid I find 4 times in fresh water Does the trick.
Good Morning @Marie2 Happy Easter Weekend to all those that are off work or on holiday. After a cracking start to the week here sunshine wise, it has been wet and miserable yesterday and so far today. Hoping for better things tomorrow.
Just got back from 3rd swim this week and preparing for the...
If my CGM rings at 4.2 I eat one jelly baby and wait. It is usually enough. Some days that can be a few times, others not at all. It usually takes me to 5 where I then remain. Anything less than 4, 2 Jelly babies. Always pure sugar with nothing else so it works rapidly and doesn’t give me a huge...
Welcome @BPR As a type 1 I do not count non starchy veg in the carb count for the purposes of injecting insulin. I expect type 2s would probably count them.
As a type 1 you should have access to proper blood glucose testing strips, mainly for sickness purposes. I found that out after an A+E visit. I very rarely use them as they are expensive and would feel terribly guilty using them without a very real concern for ketones. Your Gp should prescribe.
And there you have the answer to your hunger. Breastfeeding makes you ravenous. Been there years ago. I am sure when you cease, your hunger levels will be on a more even keel. Just try and sate that hunger in a sensible manner.
As regards the blood glucose numbers. I would relax a little more...
I’ve been wearing Libre for over 5 years now and have only ever had 2 actual failures. Knocked a couple off in the early days (now cover) and get the occasional one that is a little out. But nothing I cannot accommodate in my every day judgements. From what I have read on Libre threads I am...
Hi @Judith 123 if your DSN was capable of doing her job correctly, instead of criticising you, she would look carefully at your Libre records. Then take note of when and how much you’d injected and been able to see in real time the effects of the Fiasp. Fiasp as most who take it are aware, does...
Yes indeed I do. I regularly have my alarm going off 30 minutes after getting into bed. I find getting up in the middle of the night causes it to jump about 3mmols. I’m not on Lantus and it isn’t a compression low.
My parents 83 and 90 still knead their own bread every other day. They buy their flour by the sackful. They still cook from scratch. Lots of fresh haddock (straight off the docks) and unprocessed meat. With a variety of fresh veg. Up until recently they picked blackberries every year and have an...
