A few asking for low carb food lists....

People need to understand the benefits of cooling and freezing carbs. Potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, lentils and beans. Cook them then let them cool at about 4°C overnight. Most of the carbs break down into a non digestible state. Fasting for over 16 hours daily helps with keeping blood sugar...

Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

I'm at the end of a 3 day fasting so all I have had today is bicarb and salt water, fruit and herbal teas, as well as a bullet proof coffee at midday. I'm due to finish at 8 pm. But I'm pushing out another 12 hours. See how it goes. Feeling very well. Went to the gym on day one and today. Only...

BG not falling during 48Hr fast

I do 8/16 fasting daily. I have more or less gone further to just a 2 meal regime with protein snacks inbetween. I also fast every 3 months for 72 hours+. If you your average BGL is over 6, manage expectations, in so far as, your system will need to get used to fasting if you do not fast...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

That is what is eaten in the 8 hours cycle. The 16 hours for me are between 6pm and 10am. All I drink is fennel and aniseed tea with powdered liquorice root as a sweetener. In a 72 hour fasting, I drink predominantly water. But thr same teas as above atr OK. I also have a 1 Liter per day mix of...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Don't let yourself be pushed into leaving out that which you like. That does not help. If you have those readings, why were you initially diagnosed as pre diabetic?

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

I now only measure, if I think I have overdone something or pnce per week. My normal BGL settled at between 4 and 5.3. Fasting was my key as well as cutting out all processed sugar as much as is absolutely possible. Fasting is easy.

    Corn from the cob

I'm Pre Diabetes. I eat a whole corn on the cob. Most is not digested. What is digested is a mixture of carbs and fibre. Eat it with a high protein food like steak or Turkey and I find my BLG does not spike by mutch at all. But I do have a teaspoon of ACV beforehand.

Rice Protein is as it states, the extracted protein from rice. It has 5g Fat, 6g Carbs (0% Sugar) and 85g Protein per 100g. It is low cholesterol and lowers triglycerides. I use it as I do weight training and need at least 150g of protein per day to keep muscle growth and stip muscle waste when...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

You're welcome. I followed on from my time on dialysis. 11.5 years. There I was told, one can eat everything, just be sensible. By cutting all supposed high carb foods out, we also limit our range of micronutrients. It's a psychological issue too. I am in control. Not the disease.

Personally I think Lentil Pasta is vile. Yes it has slightly less carbs and more protein, but fir me the taste is just bot mine. I also find they go mushy after the cooling and reheating process they also go mushy in a more fluid sauce, but each to their own. I get my protein in other ways. I...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Since I started interval fasting and do a tri-monthly 3 day fast, my readings have stabilised in the non diabetic range. I no longer get morning syndrome. I sleep better. I cut all industrial sugars. All fresh foods. I even make my own baked beans in my own tomato sauce. Coconut oil, blackseed...

    Clove Powder

Im in Germany. We get ours from a herbalist/Bio Shop it is a trusted shop. All our spices. Or from the market fresh. Then we grow many of the main herbs. We're buying a dryer soon, so we will dry them out and bottle or jar them. I made my own peanut butter this morning. Fresh peanuts roasted on...

    Clove Powder

I have vowed to do this every 3 months. Now I have cleared my system, I can keep it low. I've gone cold turkey on everything. Even coffee with no sweetener or milk. I just do not like oat or nut milk. However I was given a tip with Mascapone in skimmed milk to make it creamier for porridge or...

    Clove Powder

Sorry, I failed to say I stopped the clove powder on the fasting. That was the advice by my Dietician. As I said, it will effect digestion if too much is taken. On a completely empty stomach we were not going to take any chances. As for the fasting, once your liver has been drained of glycogen...

    Clove Powder

Hi Ian. I used to get adrenalin burst in the morning. Without them I would be between 5.8 to 6.5. With them I've been up to 7+. I was ill and decided to make a herbalbtea from scratch. I used Cloves, Tumeric, Ginger, and Cinnamon. I noticed my morning BGL was lowering. I was discussing with my...

Fasting Blood Sugar this morning + yesterday's food AND physical activity

I turned away from the regular whey and other powders and now use Rice Protein. I use it in my shakes and my Protein bites for pre/Post training. Absolutely no additives. Neutral tasting so it's good for full lemon shakes too.

    Clove Powder

I'm fasting at the moment. My BGL has been under 5.5 for weeks. It may be a mix of things, as I do lots of fitness. However I do believe it is stopping me getting the morning adrenalin bursts. That was my prime issue.
