    Are these wonder drugs?

My GP has written an URGENT referral to the hospital for me to see the team I saw that put me on Exenetide, to put me on Insulin, unfortunately despite an urgent referral I am still waiting, this is just another attempt to get my levels down while I await the insulin treatment.

    Are these wonder drugs?

Just been prescribed this. To be honest my GP said that our local GP group etc had decided not to use this in the area I live due to the side effects but that there was a U-Turn on Thursday and as my appointment was on Friday he was eager for me to try it. Only on a short lived basis though as I...

    Has anyone tried canagliflozin?

Saw my GP on Friday because of a very annoying feeling of hot water being poured over my foot, which turned out to be the start of nerve problems due to the high glucose levels I have been experiencing. Anyway I am picking up a new medicine tomorrow called canagliflozin. Apparently it works by...

    Feet

The thing that is getting me a little annoyed is I have been seen numerous times now over the last two years, and have only had my feet checked once. With everything else that is going wrong, then surely there should be some care for me feet too. Anyway I will find out what's next in a few days...

Hi, if you have seen any of my posts in the fasting readings thread, I have had very high readings for quite some time now. I am being treated and things are improving, but I have had a real problem with my foot this week and I am wondering am I going mad or is this also related to my condition...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

10.9 this morning, remembered my 160mg of Glic at dinner last night, it really has made a difference. Feel quite awake instead of groggy and knackered. Can't wait to get the insulin so I can finally have low readings again, my body is starting to show side effects from such high readings for so...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

13.1 this morning. To be honest I keep forgetting to take my evening dose of Gliclazide and it's obvious that my levels are coming down so I really have to remember. I am supposed to take two 80mg tablets with breakfast which is fine, I take that along side my statin and everything else, but the...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Thanks for the support everyone, very kind of you. My GP was quite annoyed that when I reported my high readings to the DN at the hospital, she said we would just review it at my next clinic appointment which is in December. He has referred me back to the consultant as an urgent case and has...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

22.4 This morning, to be honest I was drinking last night, at a family birthday, and normally drinking makes my readings lower (wine) but I woke up and again couldn't see properly and took my readings and got 22.4 Well, my appointment with the GP is only a few hours away so hopefully more...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

LADA was suggested when I was first diagnosed, but when I took Gliclazide for the first time it worked really well so the GP said it was definitely Type 2. I spoke to the Diabetic Nurse at the hospital yesterday and she said I would definitely need to go onto insulin and as soon as possible so I...

    Info required re: Bydureon

Webby I am the same, my sugars are in the same range as yours. The GP gave me some Gliclazide as these have worked in the past but they haven't made any difference. He said if this was the case, then the Beta Cells are fed up and are not working. He has made a referral to move to Insulin. Do you...

    Back from my GP Appointment...

Well I went and he was great. Basically I took Gliclazide a while ago and it worked, so he has added this to my medication regime from today along with the Bydureon. The Glic should work quite quickly and we know it worked before with no effects on my tummy so I am on 80mg twice a day. I have to...
