    Sick again. Any ideas why?

Could have been to do with how much you had eaten before the lunch time dose compared to the evening dose, or something to do with your digestion system slowing down over night, compared to the active afternnon?

    Vinegar

It is the same theory apparently, as is having a salad dressing. I have found in the past that alcohol raises my BG for several days but I am going to have another try of this soon, just in case my body has changed  My brother finds a glass of red wine benficial, I keep thinking, well if...

You are not the only one, I took one of the drinks for months with no effect, I stopped taking them and stopped eating starchy carbs and my cholesterol droped from 5 point something to 4.2 in three months! And some brands had quite a bit of sugar in them. My doctor explaind to me in a way that...

I tried the 2 table spoons of cider vinegar in one of my attempts to try to control the DP. I have IBS and the vinegar gave me abdominal pain and the runs. And it had no effect onthe DP

    another possibly silly question!

Hi I am effected by the DP My waking bg at 6.30am hovers aroung 6.00, but by the time I eat breakfast at 8.00am it will be around 8, and if i don't eat it will keep rising to about 9 or 10 and stay there until 1.00pm ish. If i eat a very low carb breakfast, it will stay around 8 and come...

    Can this be so?

When I am ill my BG is higher than normal, if your are being given anti-biotics then I suppose you must have some sort of infection? This may well be raising your BG's. So it is probably the lowering of the infection in your body which is lowering you BG's not the anitbiotics as such.

    News - Dementia and DM

But it backs up what we are all saying about needing the good early interventions and being prescribed strips, in order to save money in the long term. Increasing costs in the early stages of this dammed condition, will decrease the really expensive costs in the end.

    High BG Levels

I am unsure where the dividing line between low and reduced carb is, and I would have no idea where exactly I fall on the line. I eat very little rice or potatoes, and no bread or pasta at all. I am not very strict with myself over checking the carbs in cheeses as they are one of my main...

    High BG Levels

Yes, sorry you do have to watch some of the quorn items, the particularly high ones are those that have been made into something, such as grills with breadcrumbs on them. They can have amounts like 16gm of carb. One of the lamb style grills has 6.8gm carb, the sausages vary. The 4 slices of...

Obesity surgery - a cure for diabetes

Yes, becasue while it is true that the majority of T2 diabetics are fat (including me :( ) it is not true that most fat people are diabetic. And as has been said there are a significant number of thin T2's,- including my thin brother, who was diagnosed at the same age as I was, after living a...

Well I came here because the advice and instructions of my HCP's weren't working for me. (AND incidently their instructions were different to advice from my previous HCP, when I lived elswhere.) It wasn't working and I had had to start taking medication and that medication was being increased, I...

Is Diabetes classed as a "Disability"?

At the risk of starting a tangent, as a mother of somebody who is profoundly dyslexic, it is a disability, It effects her day to day life and stops her functioning in the world in the same way that my husband and I do. As has been said it does not mean she is eligible for benefits or anything...

Coeliac : what is your experience?

I have suffered from IBS for many years, then I cut out wheat as it was playing havoc with my BG and instantly the IBS disapeared. I went to the doctor and she tested for Coelic but the tests came back negative. She said that it is possible to be intolerant of wheat without being coeliac. I no...
