    Steroid injections

Thank you, it's a relief to hear it's not just me - also it may be having the knee and finger done at the same time. I've had each done separately before, and don't remember massive jumps like this before. Anyway, thank you all.

    Steroid injections

I had to have a trigger finger and a dodgy knee injected with steroids last Tuesday, and my blood sugars have gone very high! I'm T2 on insulin, so can compensate, but has anyone else found this, and how long do they take to return to normal? Thank you.

    Diabetic retinopathy and driving

Thank you Dumfries and Nicole for your answers - I've had retinopathy for about 7 or 8 years and have not had to have any more laser treatment for the last three years, so it seems fairly stable, but I have a small blind spot in the worst affected eye. I'm actually going to go to the opticians...

    Medication revy

Hi Teesideguy66 In our practice they usually request that you have a blood test done a few days earlier so they can review your results. Do you have your own blood test meter and have you been testing yourself? If so, then take your meter to your appointment. They will also need a urine sample...

    Diabetic retinopathy and driving

I'm T2 on insulin and have been for about 12 years now. My diabetic control is good now, but hasn't been so in the past, hence diabetic retinopathy and CKD. I've had a lot of laser work on the back of both eyes, leaving some scarring. I've also had cataracts removed from both eyes. I'm short...

    Dizzyness

Hi Sno0opy 110/70 seems to me to be on the low side of normal to me - I'm not medically trained, but have had several blood pressure issues over the past few years! It's possible you might have a condition called postular hypotension, when your blood pressure drops when you rise from lying down...

What is the best carb counter app?

I've been off low carb for a while, and the weight is starting to creep back on! So I'm going back onto low carb, and would be interested to know which low carb (as opposed to calorie counter) apps members have found the most accurate for UK food. Thanks for any help.

    Fruits ending in berry

I make my own style of guacamole with an avocado, Greek yoghurt, a little bit of chilli and seasoning. Or chop them up in salads. Has anyone else found strawberries rather disappointing this year? I eat very few, but the ones I've had have all been rather flavourless!

Low carb high fat. Anyone been Type 2 for more than a few years?

I've been on various diets for years, Rosemary Conley was a favourite - all that exercise made you feel that you really should be losing weight - along with the low fat high fibre diet. And wondered why I just seemed to put on weight rather than losing it! I'm T2 and on insulin and have been for...

    Other Half Now Has T2!

My OH has just been diagnosed with T2. He is 81. He went in for his 6 monthly check for his COPD, and the blood test came back. I gather that if your blood comes back as 48 or under you are not diabetic - his was 49! (Was this an HBa1c?) As I've been T2 for about 22 years now, hopefully I can...

Learned something important about depression and diabetes today

That's very interesting, Jenny 15. It has been commented on that now my bgs have settled down I'm not nearly as irritable as I was before. And I do feel calmer about life in general - more accepting of my situation maybe.
