    Dexcom G5 and driving

That's great! Unfortunately I haven't graduated to my full license yet so I can't have my phone turned on in the car :( But it's a really good idea!

    Another bad scare...

32, wow I can't even imagine. Mate if you don't change jobs the current one is going to kill you! No job is worth sacrificing your health. If you can, take some time off to try and get your diabetes back under control. I would also suggest making an appointment with your doctor to discuss your...

    Goodbye

Don't let it get to you! Once on another forum I got dumped on for saying that I hadn't had any hypos in a couple of weeks, in answer to somebody's question "how frequently do you have hypos?" (they must have been jealous or something, idk). The internet is full of crazy people or stupid people...

    Random Spikes

I've been getting some spikes as well recently, turned out that my basal was way off so you could try doing some basal testing. Alternatively, you may be getting sick, even if you haven't developed symptoms yet. Or it could be the food, I always seem to get ridiculous spikes with chips so I just...

    Number of hypos a week

I haven't had anything below 3.9 in a couple of weeks now :) Been making an effort to avoid hypos after having a couple of scary drops a while back. However, there are many times during the day when my blood sugar drops and may have become hypo if I hadn't done something, like maybe 5 times a...

    Hypo & sight

Wow sounds scary! This doesn't happen to me but a couple of times I have noticed slight differences in my vision, such as seeings stars when I felt dizzy (3.1), feeling disconnected from the world (variety of numbers), and once hallucinating that a tablecloth was moving (that was only a 4.1, I...

    Hypo

Wow that is terrifying! I take less than that in a whole day lol, couldn't imagine having it all at once! I suppose you had a whole lot of carbs, but it's hard to get the amount right when you're taking that many units. What were your numbers like?

    Had a right battle today

I never have more than 3 at once. But sometimes I feel so hungry and I would love to eat 6! :) It's my favourite food!

What stress does to bg levels

Totally agree, stress has a HUGE impact on my numbers. My doctors actually mentioned to me that it is a factor that can affect my blood sugars, but I still haven't found a solution to it. I play tournament chess, and when I'm playing my blood sugars are sky high due to the stress and tension. No...

    Had a right battle today

Not all at once lol! I had 2 for breakfast, 2 for lunch, another 1 for lunch coz I was still hungry, and 1 for afternoon snack. I put peanut butter on mine :) My breakfast today was 2 weetbix, an apple, and some chocolate ice cream :D

    Had a right battle today

I love weetbix and have eaten them every day since I was diagnosed. I have found that they're a great food since they're fairly moderate GI, easy to carb count, filling and delicious! I've had 6 today already :) I agree with everyone else - your experience sounds like a typical problem for newly...

Feeling as if my bloods are very high but they aren’t?

Maybe anxiety? Recently I've started getting some anxiety attacks which make me feel symptoms (usually of lows) when my blood sugar is within the normal range.

When Should You Feel a Hypo?

I think ideally you should feel low somewhere between 3.5-4.5 (allowing for meter inaccuracies). I can usually feel hypos around 4, but sometimes higher if I am on my way down.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Delighted to get 4.8% or 29 on my last test. I have really been struggling with my control - recently in the mornings I can't seem to get my numbers up no matter what I do (turn off pump for hours, no IOB, no exercise, eating food - just couldn't make it go up) followed by highs in the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Definitely could be dawn phenomenon. Other possibilities include changes in your exercise plan, illness (even if you don't feel sick, you might have picked something up and your body is reacting already, even though you don't have symptoms yet), changes in the weather, increased stress...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Yes, especially recently, I've needed juice at least once during the night. Still trying to get my basal right, combination of honeymoon period and exercise is making trouble for me. Earlier this year, my insulin needs just kept increasing, and I needed about 23 units basal a day (whereas before...
