    Blood sugar levels slightly raised

Apart from walking to university and back I'm not particularly active. It's about 80 minutes fast walking a week. 9's give me a headache too :( Think I will see the doc, I've had trouble getting up in the mornings this week and missed a couple of classes which really isn't good in my final year!

    Blood sugar levels slightly raised

Hi, thanks for the advice :) I've considered trying to low my carbs but I'm really a fussy eater and won't eat veggies so it really would limit the amount of food I can eat and as a uni student pasta and noodles are a large part of my diet  I try not to eat too much but I can't really get...

    Blood sugar levels slightly raised

Hi, I was diagnosed in may with a hba1c of 12.5. I reduced the sugar I was eating but not the carbs like a lot of people seemed to have done on here and my hba1c in oct was down to 6.4 and my usual blood readings were between 4-7 but for the past few weeks my blood sugars after eating have been...

    Cholesterol

Yes, I take 2 x 500mg metformin SR in the evening. Not the max dose but doc decided it didn't need to be increased because of my good results. I gather from that thread its unusual to have hypos from metformin but not impossible. Perhaps I need to eat more often? Although a hypo I had the other...

    Cholesterol

Cheers for the thread but they weren't false hypos, my readings where less than 4 =] I've considered low-carbing but I'm not sure if its a good idea if I am having hypos with the carbs I eat now :? Also quite a fussy eater to be honest so I'm not sure how well I'd survive without carbs =P

    Cholesterol

I was drinking and eating a lot of sugar (student lifestyle =P) before I was diagnosed. I mainly lowered my hba1c by cutting out the sugary drinks and reducing the amount of sweeties I eat :) I've lost a bit of weight but not much but I've recently started taking my diet more seriously to lose...

    Metformin- newly diagnosed

Thanks Denise :) I might wait until I get home to take the met and start with the double dose on sunday instead. My BMI is around 34 so it is high definitely. The nurse I saw, who consulted with a diabetic nurse, said from my numbers they think it's type 2 but they aren't definite on it. I...

    Metformin- newly diagnosed

I'm not really sure about my blood sugars to be honest. They've been pretty consistent apart from yesterday and today which have been lower. Although I didn't eat much yesterday and anything I've eaten today has instantly been removed from my body so that could explain that :? . I might try the...

    Metformin- newly diagnosed

Hi, I was diagnosed with type 2 (although they're not positive on that) after a hba1c of 11% and a blood glucose level of 23 (not fasting) a week ago. My blood levels usually range between 10-14 fasting and 15-20 after meals. I was told to take one dose of 500mg of metformin a day for a week...
