    help with a sexual problem.

Age has nothing to do with it, we had one child 27 years ago and bought a telly. Like I said I can't remember as far back as sex

    Neuropathy caused by improved control

I never had any problems before I was diagnosed as T2 in June last year. Now since the medication I have some nerve damage to my feet that they say will improve when I get my diabetes under control.

    bg less than 5

I regularly have what I call Virgil Tracy moments if my bg drops around 4.6, so I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

    lancets

I use a fresh lancet every time. There's 200 in a box, but why is there only 50 test strips in a pack? :)

    Diet Coke - or not

We went out last night to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. I was trying to be good, no bread rolls, steak & salad, no chips, no desert and the only thing I had to drink was the post mix diet coke. Anyway my bg this morning was 12.8 so I left breakfast and 6 hours on after a 2.5 mile walk...

    Breakfast 2.5 hours ago

Porridge, skimmed milk and a sprinkle of dried fruit. I started feeling like ****, shakes, etc. thought I was hypo. I tested my bs and found it to be 8.7. One of the highest readings I've seen for a while. Why would I feel as bad as I did? :(

    Alcohol

With a nightly glass of red wine having the desired effect on my morning bs levels, I was asked what would you could give a T1 child to have the same effect. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Like I said

Just had a reading of 3.1 and feeling like ****, the first thing I grabbed was a bowl of frosties. Mainly cos I couldn't see anything else sugary. Was that a genuine hypo? I have to pick my wife up soon so how long will it be before I'm safe to drive?

in uk who pays for test strips, etc and who doesnt?

My GP is under Knowsley Health care trust and he's been very good. I believe he is an expert in diabetes, a rare thing for a GP. I get my prescriptions, meter, test strips etc. free. Good thing too. What with £7.40 per item I could never afford to pay for it. My last prescription had 7 items on...

    I have sinned

Totally pigged out on a 13 inch Domino's pizza last night. I won't even be using my meter for few days cos I'm scarred to look.

    Addisons Disease?

My pop has addisons. He was diagnosed at 15 and is now 72. It never hampered him at all, nor did it stop him producing 6 kids. as long as he takes his meds. you would never know. And as an aside he beat bowel cancer 3 years ago. He says 'don't die of embarasment'

    gilctazide

I'm on 2 glictazide and 2 metformin twice a day plus the simvastatin and an asprin. No obvious side effects, in fact I don't feel too bad at all. My levels are up and down, although my morning results have shown a big improvment after introducing a glass of red wine or 2 as a bed time drink. For...

5.9. A great reduction in what I normally see. I can see this experiment being repeated. :D :D :D

    whiskey

Purely in the interest of science you understand. I've bought myself a nice bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape to see what effect it has on the dawn phenomenon. 4.9 going to bed and the result of this experiment will be shown here in the morning. Just one glass of course, it's many years since...

    Hospital Yesterday

Consultant said my leg problems were Meralgia Paraesthetica. I just looked it up on the internet and I think I will rule out diabetes and being overweight and just blame it on tight trousers.

Why is it so high 11.7

All I've had for breakfast was 2 shredded wheat, skimmed milk and a coffee. Going to bed was 4.2. I've read on here about the Dawn Phenomenon, but such a big difference!!! The shredded wheat box says nothing added.

    Are these hypos?

Wednesay last week I had the shakes before lunch, no snacks since breakfast 6 hours earlier. I lost any co ordination in my legs - I described it as walking like a thunderbird puppet. I shook so much it was a struggle to use the tester. I was surprised that the reading was 4.2. I always thought...
