Does caffine speed up insulin absorption?

My blood sugar has always risen after drinking coffee, but the caffeine helps me feel so much better in general. After a 10 month break from coffee I have recently started to have at least one cup a day and found a lot of my aches and pains have since almost disappeared. Sent from the...

BBC 2 tonight Pregnant diabetic mum to be

T1 now for 47 years and had my son 38 years ago. Even then I found the doctors monitored my diabetes constantly during my pregnancy and I felt very well cared for. The only real problem I found with being a diabetic mom is that you tend to have a larger baby which is why my pregnancy ended...

But you can't be diabetic, you're so slim

I've been T1 now for 47 years and over this time I've been told I don't look like a diabetic, including nurses at a Diabetic Clinic I used to attend. Recently saw a cardiologist who told me I don't look like a 59 year old diabetic (not sure what he was expecting!). Can someone tell me what a...

    injections at work

Can't believe CJLD999's in-laws. My husband doesn't like needles but have told him he may need to do it for me one day. We're going to start practising on oranges before I let him near me! There is a great deal of ignorance regarding T1 and I think I've heard most of it over the 47 years I've...

Hospital, who's in, about to go in, who just got out.

Going in soon for triple/quadruple heart bypass. Have been T1 for 47 years and always hate giving others control of my diabetes (even the professionals). Maybe I shouldn't take so much notice of the media but have had a couple of bad experiences over the years in the care of the medical...

    Which is easier?

I agree with older. I was 12 when diagnosed and decided I wasn't going to let it affect me. Partied all night, drank as I wanted to, but I think I was lucky. Still here 47 years on, doing ok, have a 38 year old son, and diabetic care has certainly improved over the years. Sent from the...

    Hello

Thanks for that Robert. Good to hear from someone who has gone through it. I think the part that really worries me is being diabetic. Over the years I've learnt that that nearly always causes complications or extra worry (especially for the doctors/nurses). Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Design your perfect product

Would love a case to just carry my pen, some spare needles and an insulin cartridge. The case my novopen came in is rigid and I always manage to open it upside down so the contents fall out. Would love a simple leather case to pop into my handbag.
