That's what I have requested...hopefully the doctor will sign that off. She mentioned mixed but in said no way. I had that when pregnant for my GD and was so restricted and had a load of hypos :( fingers crossed I get.the basal/bolus. I will let you know :)

Exactly my thoughts!! When I had GD they had me on a mixed insulin and it was so rigid at mealtimes, no scope to negotiate carbs and if you did any extra walking with you would have a.hypo..I'd rather not go through that again!!! I'm praying they are going to let me on the two separate ones!!!

Hey Guys, I'm starting insulin tomorrow. It's not ideal but it's the only option to get control. She is discussing with the doctor today to decide the best regime. At present I'm on 4 X Gliclazide a day which isn't working and she talking about either adding 2 X.doses of long acting insulin...

I have another appointment with her tomorrow to go through the insulin regime so may print out some info tonight and take with me. Thanks

I asked about the possibility of me not being a type 2 and she basically said type 2 comes in different sizes so although I don't fit the standard criteria I am most definitely type 2. Not the same as my doc said but hey Ho x

**UPDATE** Been to see the nurse, I'm starting on insulin tomorrow when she can book me in at the other surgery. She's not sure whether to start me on a long and short acting one or just the long acting twice a day x

This has come up a few times when I've posted..I think my doctor is of the same view as well because she said she reckons it will be 2 years max before I'm on insulin! I'm definitely going to ask for the tests this time x
