    New diagnosis....Newcastle Diet?

Hi richm13 . I highly recommend the Newcastle Diet. I too thought I was not ' over weight ' but applying the principles of the Newcastle ' cure ' I ended up fit , lean and lighter than when I was a 16 year old Rugby player. I was surprised at first to be so light, but now I have got...

Type 2 2 how long to fast before blood tests

I can not find a written statement about the blood sugar maximum fasting time, just a remark from a GP in a hurry that it should not be more than 10 hours. But I did find this one, about lipids, just as puzzling . Capital Pathology http://www.capitalpath.com.au/patients/faq.aspx "DO I...

Dear Brunneria - That is a very comprehensive list. I have come across the I-eat-wot-I-like-and-don't-you-dare-infringe- etc in one guy I was trying to ' help' , as I sat beside him, his wife tending to his foot ulcers, he was not interested. I have also met quite a few who don't want to...

Type 2 2 how long to fast before blood tests

I've always fasted for at least 12 hours before all my tests as that's the requirement for lipids. Recently I heard that fasting blood sugars should be tested only at maximum 10 hours and a longer fast would give false readings. Can anyone explain this? Should I ask the lab to do two...
