DOES LOW CARB HI FAT cause blood sugar spikes

@hooha

It could have been a thread about the Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) as those taking this test that are very low carb can fail it simply because of the pancreas not being ready for a sudden hit of 75g pure glucose and should ideally "carb up" for a few days prior to the test. (recommended carbs at least 130g a day)

Yes, you need a lot of strips at the ready. :)

I reckon it took me longer than 2 hours to get down to normal. What do you call normal?
@Bluetit1802 = Normal ? I look at the graph from Prof JS Christiansen in Blood Sugar 101 https://www.bloodsugar101.com/what-is-a-normal-blood-sugar
It has the average of a group of normal people, with a range on either side of 2 standard deviations.I usually come in rather high but if I am below the top brown line I am happy.

Some with an agenda will pretend that LCHF causes insulin resistance rather than reducing it in the vast majority of cases.

Fast acting carbs will cause most diabetics and non diabetics to spike; it's just that a non diabetic returns to normal readings withing a short time (effectively, hiding the spike).

Some do suffer a phenomenon with dairy causing insulin resistance.

A "normal" diet is anything but, as it is extremely high sugar and over processed.

I wonder...

I wonder if a non diabetic who constantly spikes, without concern because it returns to normal, isn’t taxing the pancreas into diabetes

Well I'm a stats guy. For every 2 people who get diagnosed with Type 2, 50% are 35 or under. hardly late onset diabetes and this should be a massive call to action. The SAD (Standard American Diet) and SUK (Standard UK Diet) sugar laden methods of eating do not work within the hyperpalatable bliss point laden environment, where the 200 extra calories consumed are mostly carbs.
