low carb = increased Triglycerides what can be done naturally ?

So low carb helps balance my BS levels and i'm able to get back within normal levels however on the flipside my Trigs go up and up while going low carb and as a lovely side effect I also get more and more spider veins appearing on my face and nose. Been reading that high triglycerides can lead...

Yeah I had posted my previous results and since then they have again increased. Got some new results in the next week to check and see if the cholesterol has reduced since upping carb intake a little bit.

    diabetic eye disease

Not sureto be honest will ask them to check this next visit but funny you should say that since changing my diet I've started to develop spider veins on my face and ankles which i'm assuming could be caused by elevated blood pressure ?

    diabetic eye disease

Thanks Grant for the quick reply. Yeah I had been told my levels was back to a normal persons range due to going low carb but as they were concerned about my rising cholesterol levels and wanted me on statin or to adjust my diet a bit. So I began to have a slice of brown bread with my meat and...

    diabetic eye disease

    Diet needs an overhaul.

Hey guys some might remember from past posts that low carb did the trick to reduce my levels to normal but the swap off was my elevated cholesterol and I had refused meds hoping it would reduce when on the diet longer. I've recently been told its once again increased since the last test and...

Did something silly how much will I suffer for it ?

I'm glad this was your thinking also, It was a delivery meal and I know if they are rushed off their feet unless you state in the notes diabetic they may just mis-read in a rush and serve a normal coke as I couldn't believe when I saw 9.9 as I have been able to eat regular ice cream with choc...

Did something silly how much will I suffer for it ?

Thanks was soo silly but after reading that post about how much they ate and because they had maintained such good levels for a year or more it made me think I could replicate... didnt even enjoy it half as much as I believed i would also :) Edit: further testing and hour later i'm back down to...

Also only had a coke zero with it... unless they gave me regular coke but I doubt it's due to this.

Did something silly how much will I suffer for it ?

I've been LCHF for almost a year and generally sit at 5.1 to 5.6 pre meal and usually highest i've hit is around 7.1 after meals. Today was tired after a long night shift and had nothing in the fridge/freezer as shopping tonight and was very hungry decided to experiment based on a post I found...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

I also thought it could have been electrolyte deficiency and bought this a few months ago https://www.bulk.com/uk/electrolyte-powder.html. But it didnt help in the strength department, My issue hasnt been muscle gain I've been growing with no issues and have gotten bigger this is purely my...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

I am already back to normal levels for T2 ? I reversed it from the initial diagnosis to the follow up by going LCHF been normal levels for over 6 months... I've just been sticking to LCHF as I thought I'd have to for life... but now that I know I can have some carbs/sugar ( my magnum bar thread)...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

So right now I'm on 80g carbs per day = 9% protein 271g = 31% Fat 233g = 60% I've also experimented with having the protein percentage higher and fat lower but this caused issues with libido... The lack of carbs is only really evident in my core strongman lifts... deadlift/squat etc.... the...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

The main lift that I've noticed it with With lyfsum app I just adjust my calories so for example my surplus calories right now being around 3500 calories and then set my carb intake to 80g per day then I set my Fat/Protein to round it off. If that's what you mean ?

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

Yeah I am on cabergoline for a prolactinoma and have been on it for around 15 years... but not introduced any new meds since going LCHF so this is 100% down to the lack of carbs pre workout.

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

Yeah must be different for individuals, Since switching to LCHF I'm no longer able to hit my max weight that I used too and I've even tried going into a surplus the last 2 months in an attempt to get back to my old ATH and had no joy. Right now my Max lifts are on par with my max lifts when I...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

No it's purely that I can't lift as heavy as I could when I had a better macro split. If I eat 3000 calories on the LCHF I'm weaker in the gym than If I ate 3000 calories that has a higher carb %. The carbs are the deciding factor on how heavy I can lift when I hit the gym.

    Magnum Almond ice cream bar.

Just tested again now in case there is a delayed increase due to high fat content and tested at 5.6. So I'm thinking the chances of it spiking now are slim to none ? with the gradual decrease since the initial increase up to 6.2. Yeah ill still be strictly LCHF but it's nice to see I can maybe...

Has anyone experimented with more carbs pre/post workouts?

Hi sorry just so I can get a better understanding are you suggesting that carb loading post workout would be a good thing but to avoid pre workout ? The reason I ask is my lifts/strength have suffered hugely since going LCHF and this is not due to the lack of calories as my number of calories...
