    Pecans

This may be a silly question and I'm probably missing something, but when I Google how many carbs there is in 25g of pecans it says 4g. But on the packet I have the same amount works out as 1.4g. Anyone know which is correct please?

    Starting Again

Thanks for your words of encouragement, it really helps alot. Mine is a retired racing greyhound, he the most placid and gentle dog I've ever met. They are really special animals aren't they! We got him in February and like you say, is definitely helping me get out and walking.

    Starting Again

Thanks! Just been having a look, possibly a silly question but do I need to buy anything to put the lancet thingies in? The last one I had was an Accuchek multiclix where you loaded the drums into the pen.

    Starting Again

Hi all, I was diagnosed with type 2 around 6 years ago. I got it all under control and lost 4 stone. Then (I don't mean this to sound like excuses, this is just what happened) my dad and my father-in-law died within three months of each other, our landlord sold our house and we had to move...

    Unsupportive relatives

Caleb, don't get me wrong, I don't mind my kids having a treat occasionally but I don't want them to have junk food all the time as that's how I've become so overweight etc, and in a way I guess I blame my mum for giving me whatever I asked for to eat when I was younger. I was never taight when...

    Unsupportive relatives

Do you have any family members (or friends even) that aren't very supportive? My mum comes round every other day to see the kids and always brings treats for them, chocolate or crisps etc.. She knows that I'm trying to be strict because I'm trying to keep my BG readings under control and lose...

    Is it enough?

Hi everyone :) I have an appointment to see my nurse next week and it's been 3 months since I last saw her, since then I have gone from 24 stone  to 21 stone.. obviously I have ALOT more to lose but was wondering if this a good loss for the time it's taken? I'm quite proud of myself...

Type 2's Do you test or not

When I first got my tester (about 3 weeks after being diagnosed) I was testing before eating and 2 hours after eating to see what food I could tolerate. Now I just test if I'm eating something new, or if I feel a bit iffy :) I think it's important to test. I have a friend who has type 2 and...

    I'm confused...

Help I'm confused (it doesn't take much lol)... I went for my 'diabetic blood audit' on friday and have my nurse appointment next week, but as I'm impatient I phoned the surgery today to ask for my results. I asked for my HbA1c result (I'm anxious to know as it's my first one since diagnosis 4...

Hi all, in two weeks time I have my first HBa1C (having been diagnosed in june).. I was wondering, will the result be similar to the 90 day average on my glucose tester or something completely different? My 90 day average is 6.3, that's not too bad right?!
