School Trip - Pizza Hut All You Can Eat Buffet [emoji85]

I agree with porl69 - Pizza is well known to be complex in how it affects levels. There's a great article here that has helped us - https://www.sugarsurfing.com/single-post/2017/12/18/How-to-Sugar-Surf%E2%84%A2-a-Pizza Hopefully this will help you calculate a plan so that your son can enjoy...

We're on a G5, but regularly change on schedule as it is for our 2 year old daughter. Results vary, but at her age it is invaluable to us.

    Newly Diagnosed Son Aged 10

Hi, No daft questions here, we are all learning. CGM is continuous Glucose Monitoring. A few different devices out there, but we use a dexcom. we insert a small sensor into the skin which transmits the tissue blood glucose levels to a remote handset. It's about 15 minutes behind a finger...

    Newly Diagnosed Son Aged 10

Hi, As every experience is different for each family I would stick to the advice that the pdsn team have given for overnight testing. We're 9 months post diagnosis and still learning all the time. Having a CGM makes it easier overnight, but we are still up all hours. Good luck for the future.

    Accu Chek Insight handset swap

Hi all, Our daughter's Insight handset is being replaced as the screen got damaged. Does anyone know if you can use the 360 software to do a full copy of the old config onto the new handset? Much like you would when configuring a new mobile phone. Or is there a lot of manual reconfiguration...

    School and diabetes

Sounds very frustrating. T1 can be hard to deal with on it's own without other factors to consider. Without giving away any personal info about your son on here, did the school give any indication as to why they think it is ADHD? Or has there been any formal diagnosis by a qualified Clinical...

Help required - insulin pump for a 9 year old

We have the Accu Chek Insight for our 2 yr old and this is changed every 3 days. There are two types of changes we perform 1) Just the cannula - which involves stopping the pump, removing the tube connector from the cannula, then applying adhesive removal spray to remove the old cannula, then...

Newcomer of an 11yr old girl with Type 1

Hi, Sorry to hear your news. We've a two and half year old daughter with T1 - diagnosed in October 2017. Due to her age we got the hospital to provide a Pump and Continual Glucose Monitor. It means no pen injections (But some other insertion procedures) and we can keep a track of her levels...

    Continuous Glucose Monitor

We have a 2yr old with a Dexcom g5. Helps us keep track as she has no hypo awareness yet. Aside from the days where we change the transmitter she doesn't even notice it. On those days it's more the anticipation that upsets her; Due to her tiny size it's placed just above her buttocks. Doesn't...

    Accu-Chek 360 connection problems

Restarted my PC and hooked up via USB without the smart pix. Also made sure that the diasend programme wasn't running. Worked last time without issue. I did keep tapping the handset when confirming the changes for upload to the pump so that the screen didn't time out. Also as an alternate...

    Accu-Chek 360 connection problems

Hi All, We're having problems trying to get our 360 software to recognise the Accu-Chek Insight. It worked a few weeks back when we were adjusting some levels etc and even worked earlier in the week when uploading to Diasend via the Smart Pix 2. I've tried various USB cables and ports (Win10...

    Dexcom g5 blood readings

Our 2yr old is using the G5 and we get the same. I guess it's the difference between the blood and tissue levels.

Products that make kids diabetes easier

Hi all, Thanks for the feedback. Didn't want to hijack knipsters post. We've tried the distraction and asleep methods etc, she is just very aware for a 2 yr old, so nothing quite works. Hopefully with projects like knipsters something will come up in the future to make this easier for...

Products that make kids diabetes easier

Our daughter is 2 and recently diagnosed. She has a cgm and a pump. The thing we find hardest is the days we need to change the canulas. She wriggles so much it takes two of us do it. Not sure what could be done to make this easier though.
