Survival plan if you run out of insulin

As the title say, is there a survival plan if you run out due to exceptional circumstances, I have heard of one guy who only had a weeks supply of insulin when he got trapped in a flood while visiting his relatives and one guy who became seriously ill when trapped in his car on the M6 during the...

    75 mg enteric coated aspirin

Hi sorry for the delay in replying to you, been away, Thanks for the response, i could use more replies from others to get an idea of benefits. It has been my thought that a small amount would not be so significant in the effect on Insulin.

Did anybody take these and find any side effects from taking them. Prior to my diagnosis I used to take this about 3 times a week for preventive measure to thin the blood and reduce heart problems etc, since diagnosis I haven't took any in case of negative interactions with insulin. The...

Hi Lordy , Do you have to pay the consultant personally if so how much if you don't mind me asking or is it paid by the DVLA ? I have just got my D2 form and will be downloading the D4 form for practising for the next 3 months when my blood sugar reading counts starts, then get the ball...

    Driving licence

For a private car is fine, from what I understand for C and D category, it would require a higher reading or monthly average I am not sure which, my meter only does 7-14-30 days average and record 450 events, which if I test on average 4 times a day would add up to 360 events in total...

    Low readings and insulin

Cheers hadn't thought about keeping glucose in blood for the brain, I thought all glucose had to be bonded with equivalent glucose to be used, so if it was free floating in the blood stream, the brain can still utilise it without insulin ? I am also slightly confused about carbs, I thought if...

Hi all, I am quite new to this since I was diagnosed type 1 about 6 weeks ago, so I am still learning and I do have a question if anyone with experience can advise me in. The first week I was high averaging 15.0 peaked at 20.0 once, since then I have come down a great deal and is levelling...

    Cheap Diabetic Travel Insurance?

I don't think its a cheap policy you want, its the ones that will pay out in the event of an incident, no point paying cheap only to cost you more if it doesn't pay out due to a small print or hidden exclusions. I would also be very interested to know a good reputable diabetic insurance company...
