Was Told By A Doctor To Increase My Carbs

To be honest I think it’s either just in your head, or that your problems are not blood sugar related. Because blood sugar above 6.5 mmol are completely normal and should not under any circrumstances cause symptoms, because it is normal. Also 8-9 mmol are NOT high, and it is normal for non...

    Non diabetic 3.8

I have no idea why it happens, I were diagnosed with RH before turning diabetic. Haven’t had any problems with hypos after I started on insulin. I think there is so much we don’t know. But well seems like it is possible to get a hypo even if you’re not diabetic :)

    Non diabetic 3.8

Yes, I even went as low as 2.3 mmol back then when I was non diabetic. So yes it is possible.

    Help!! Diabetic levels

You should take this with your GP or diabetic nurse. No one should give advice on dosage here on the forum, because the effect on insulin are very individual and different for each person.

    Finger prick test result

Call an emergency number noe.. I don’t think you should wait, 22.4 are, as mention above very high, and of big concern when it keeps raising. If you can’t reach an emergency line I think you should just get to your closest hospital now. I think this is priority, as there is no doubt that your...

    Do I have hyperinsulinaemia?

Not sure if it is a good adviced, but can tell what I did when I got diagnosed with RH (long story short: got RH a couple of years before I become diabetic). I just lived normal, I didn’t have to follow any diet or something. I just eated like I did before I got RH, and it wasn’t a problem as...

    Finger prick test result

If your blood suger does not lower in the next few hours you should go straight to your nearest hospital before you end up in the ER. Not trying to over-exaggerating things, but if your blood sugar doesn’t go down and continue to raise above 21.8 it can get dangerous. So please keep checking...

    Pre-diabetes question

Where I live pre-diabetes are diagnosed when you met two of the following criterias: - Fasting blood sugar between 6.0 - 6.9 mmol. - OGTT between 7.9 - 11.1 mmol - HbA1c between 6.0 - 6.4 % Since you only has elevated fasting blood sugar, and no elevated blood sugar through the day or after...

    Hi

Blood sugar monitors meassure blood sugar from 0.6 mmol to 33.3 mmol. If your reader show LO it is less than 0.6 mmol, and if it shows HI you have blood sugar above 33.3 mmol. At least that what my accu-check manual says.

    Do I have hyperinsulinaemia?

Hi As mention above it is hard to tell without an prolonged OGTT. My advice is, get a glucose monitor at the pharmancy and check your blood sugar everytime you feel shaky, or bad, then it would be easier to catch if you really had a hypo. It is also possible to have both low and high blood...

Confused - could I be prediabetic?

I kind of agree with your GP. I don’t think you have neuropathy, as that happens as a result of very high blood sugar over an exceeded periode of time, which is very unlikely when you have such low fasting bs. Also, feeling tingling in hands, feet or body after eating are not a symptom of...

My blood sugars..Is this a little low?

5.1 after eating are not low, and shouldn’t make a difference if you’re used to 5.6. The difference are marginal and can for all we know just be within the normal margin of error on your meter. I think there were other reasons for discomfort :)

    Units per day

I have rent a cgm at the hospital out next week, to see how it works. So I might get a cgm if things work out :) That would be one problem less at work. I know I have to calibrate the cgm, but thought that might be possible to do outside worktime? Well I understand that a pump might require...

    Units per day

Thanks, well insulin pumps are covered by health care where I live, so insurance won’t be such a problem.... The problem with using finger prick and pen, is that I have a work were I am not allowed to show needles or bloor, so that makes it very hard for me to manage my diabetes at work :(...

    Units per day

Hi Just want to ask out of curiousity :) I still await results of what kind of diabetes I have, gp suspect some kind of mody. But still have to wait for results and see. But I wanted to make a post here, bacause I know many type 1s use an insulin pump. I’ve suggested for my gp that I want a...

Can you die from pre-diabetes per se

Pre-diabetes are not a disease, but just a precursor or warning of developing diabetes in the future. So I would say you can die while being pre-diabetic, but being pre-diabetic would not be the cause of death.

    GP refusing insulin prescription

Do you have a diabetic nurse or a GP specialized on diabetes? As diabetic you should always have a health care team around you to help when something goes wrong, like this. Get someone from your diabetic health care team to contact your GP for sorting things out. If you can’t take this futher...

    Newly diagnosed

Libre can’t comunicate with an insulin pump, so already there I would say that Libre are not an good solution, same with dexcom unfortunally. I would say medtronic are one of the best solutions out there. Medtronic is a two piece system, medtronic minimed g670 which are the pump, and medtronic...

    MODY GCK

I guess you have had a genetic test since you’ve been diagnosed wity mody. You don’t say anything about blood sugar levels or what your spikes are like. I just ask out of curiousity since you’re taking herbs instead of prescipted drugs for diabetes. I won’t call insulin a drug with horrible...
